Richard Ramirez was born on February 29, 1960, in El Paso, Texas. His full name was Ricard Leyva Munoz Ramirez. When he was five years old, he was hit in the head by a swing. This caused her to become unconscious. The doctors determined him to have epilepsy due to the trauma to his head.

This epilepsy caused him to become violent and become involved in satanic acts. The violence led to Richard abusing drugs in his later years. He also raped, abused, and murdered several men and women. He would commit his crimes in the area that he lived. This earned him the title of "Valley Intruder." This is because he would intrude homes and residences in the valley of which he lived to rape, torture, and murder several of his victims.

He moved throughout the time of his attacks, and he eventually changed his modus operandi to carrying out his attacks at night. This earned him the title of "Night Stalker." Modus operandi is how and when a person carries out their attacks.

A few cases with Richard Ramirez involved women that were raped, roommates that were tortured, and even random people. There was a young girl that was raped and murdered. Ramirez was arrested on August 24, 1985. He, one day, married a middle-aged, female reporter by the name of Doreen Lioy. They became married in 1996 while Ramirez was incarcerated. The marriage did not last, because Doreen had found out about the young girl that was raped and murdered. The case and evidence presented on April 10, 1984, and the verdict that Richard was guilty of this case was determined in 2009. This shows that the case took much too long. There had to have been evidence that was either missing, not tested, tampered with, damaged, or other improper things that cause the evidence to become inadmissible in court.
