The next day I walked to school next to Maia, my mind was completely lost just staring at the ground.
Maia: And then he called me nine times!
Yn: Hm
Maia: What do you think?
Yn: Hmh

She asked and I snapped out of my thoughts, I jumped slightly and looked back at her
Yn: Sorry, what did you say?
Maia stopped walking a looked at me concerned
Maia: Girl, are you okay?
Yn: Mhm! Yeah!
She frowned and got closer to me
Maia: You're not!
Yn: Everything's fine Maia-
Maia: No! I see it in your eyes... we've been friends for almost two years now!
Yn: Maia, It's nothing, I swear!
Maia: I won't move from here until you tell me
She crossed her arms, I sighed knowing that what she was saying was true
Yn: Maia-
Maia: Albert, right?
I nodded and looked back at the ground, she sighed
Yn: But it's nothing important-
Maia: We don't talk anymore
Yn: What?
Maia: We- don't- talk- anymore!
She said emphasizing each word
Yn: ...The Charlie Puth song?
Maia: You and I! We don't talk like we used to! you would always tell me everything!
She said looking hurt at me
Yn: I haven't told you anything because you're busy breaking up and coming back with Jake all the time!
Maia: But Yn! We're friends! Whatever's happening to you is also happening to me! Who even cares about Jake?
She laughed, I smiled, she came closer to me and hugged me
Yn: I didn't want to bother you...
Maia: You don't bother me silly! Now tell me what did Aretz do?
She said pulling apart and putting her hands in my shoulders
Yn: Well-
Maia: ...
Yn: He doesn't like me-
Maia: Hm?
Yn: But-...
Maia: ...?
Yn: I don't even know at this point!
I said with a little crack in my voice, Maia frowned
Maia: Wait, you confessed to him?!
Yn: No I didn't that's the worst part-!
Maia: Then?
Yn: It's a long story...-
Maia: We have time
Yn: School starts in ten minutes and we're late already, what do you mean "we have time"?!
Maia: Who even goes to first period?! C'mon let's be irresponsible at least once!
She said and I laughed, It was honestly the first time that I skipped school, we walked the other way and sat down in the grass in the middle of a park, I let my feelings take control of my voice and let out the whole story to my best friend while I played pulling some grass out of the ground, she listened to me carefully as I told her how he was nice to me, how we kissed, how he apologized, how he then invited me to his game, and well everything was confusing.
