It was a quite a while after the preliminary Chuunin Exams, and all that was on Naruto's mind was him.
Yes him, not her, but him.

The one and only Sasuke Uchiha.

The way his stupid raven hair matched his stupid onyx eyes. Those stupidly beautiful onyx eyes. That stupidly beautiful Uchiha. Wait, what was he thinking? Sasuke wasn't beautiful, he was, he was just stupid. Just stupidly beautiful. Naruto was confused. Why was he thinking about this, why was he thinking about him of all people? Why not Sakura, Sakura, the real beauty. With her short pink hair, and her pretty turquoise eyes. That was more like it. Sakura was the one that he should have been thinking about, not Sasuke. Sakura and her obsession with Sasuke Uchiha. Sasuke Uchiha. The Last Uchiha, Naruto thought, squinting his eyes. More like the Stupid Uchiha. More like the Stupid Uchiha that he couldn't stop thinking about. Or maybe the Stupid Uchiha that was standing above him as he lay on the ground under a Sakura tree. "Get up Dobe, stop squinting like an idiot."
"Shut up, Teme," Naruto said as he struggled to stand, "I was just about to get up before you interrupted me."
"Tch, usuratonkachi."
Suddenly, a girl, Sakura, ran up to the two boys, waving her hands in a flurry of movement. "Sasuke-kun, what a surprise seeing you here!" Sakura said, after catching her breath, as if she hadn't obviously followed Sasuke, "I wonder, what if we could spend some time here together. Alone." She emphasized, dragging out the last word as she glared at Naruto. "Kakashi sent the both of us here to look for Naruto, it shouldn't be a surprise seeing me here to you, unless you're as dumb as you look." Sasuke deadpanned, paying no notice to the pink-haired girl. She gasped and grabbed his shoulder, tears threatening to fall. "Sasuke-kun, you don't really mean that, do you?"
"You're starting to get really annoying, get lost, Sakura."
The girl ran, tears finally escaping, she kept running like no one could stop her.
Naruto's mouth hung open, and his eyes lay unblinking. That was, until he gained control over himself again, and ran to console his other, friendly, teammate. "Don't talk to Sakura-chan like that, you jerk!" Naruto said, shoving Sasuke to get to the girl, "Look what you've done, you made her cry!"
Sasuke ran in effort to catch up to the blonde, "I didn't make her cry, she's just weak, she let's other people's words get to her."
Naruto gave the raven-haired a look. "Not everyone is like you Sasuke," Naruto mumbled, stopping, causing Sasuke to come to a halt as well, "not everyone can't be fazed by words, not everyone has to be the perfect Sasu-chan that everyone loves and admires." He backed Sasuke to a tree. "Not everyone..." Naruto froze, the anger he once felt fading away, "Never mind, sorry about that Sasuke."
Sasuke studied his predicament, noticing many points in which he could use to escape. He successfully tripped Naruto, and used the built up momentum to flip the blonde, pushing him against the tree, "Everyone should be like me, they should all stop letting words hurt their feelings, that's just pathetic-"
He was interrupted when he was once again pressed against the same tree they had been arguing under for a while. "Why should they?" Naruto asked, his anger evident as he forcibly pushed the raven-haired boy, "Not everyone has to be like the amazing Last Uchiha, that everyone loves and adores."
"Shut up Naruto! Not everyone loves me." Sasuke hissed, he had stopped struggling under Naruto, there was no point in doing so.
"Yes they do! All the girls in our class are literally obsessed with you!" Naruto yelled, "Oh Sasu-chan, you're so hot, please kiss me!" He mimicked, pouting his lips and leaning towards the raven-haired. Sasuke pushed him back, his pale skin turning a light shade of pink on his facial area, "Stop calling me that, Dobe."
"Calling you what, Teme?" Naruto pressed on.
"Stop calling me Sasu-chan." He mumbled, a light, hardly noticable, pale pink dusting his cheeks. He hated this. He was embarrassed. He hated losing his cool. Especially in front of Naruto of all people!
"Say please, Teme." Naruto grinned, holding Sasuke's arms down. He was actually overpowering the Uchiha! Maybe Kakashi-Sensei's training was finally coming in handy!
"Please, stop calling me Sasu-chan. And let me go. Please." Sasuke groaned.
"Okay, fine, I'll let you go." Naruto was just about to leave the Uchiha alone when he thought to himself, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity! This might never happen again! Take advantage of this situation! "Wait, no."
"Nani?"
"Call me Naruto-kun."
"Nani?" Sasuke repeated.
"Say 'Naruto-kun! You're my best friend! I love you so much!' " Naruto continued, holding in a laugh. He wanted to hear this, especially from the Uchiha's mouth. Sasuke froze up.
"No."
"Then I'm not going to let you go." Naruto said, chuckling as he did so. He saw as Sasuke struggled to push him away, there was frustration in his expression. He was about to apologise and let go when Sasuke began to speak. "What did you tell me to say again?"
Naruto's eyes lit up, "Naruto-kun! You're my best friend! I love you so much!"
Sasuke audibly groaned, "Naru- Do I really have to say this?"
"Yes, Teme."
"Naruto-kun, you're starting to get on my nerves."
"I didn't tell you to say that," Naruto grumbled, "Hurry up, it's getting boring holding you down, plus, Kakashi-Sensei's probably wondering where we are right now."
Sasuke pushed Naruto with more force, but with no avail as he refused to let go of the raven-haired boy's hands. "Just let go, Dobe."
"Just say it, Teme." Naruto persisted.
"Naruto-kun, you're my best friend and I love you so much." Sasuke deadpanned, like he was a programmed robot, forced to do so.
"Come on, Teme," Naruto whined, "you can do better than that."
"Remind me why I have to do this?"
Naruto paused, why did he want Sasuke to say this anyways?
"Because, I want to show you that you're not the only strong one! Everyone might love you, and you might be really good-looking," Naruto drawled on, "But I'm the one and only Uzumaki Naruto, the future Hokage of Konoha!"
Sasuke struggled to keep his poker face. A small smile suddenly appeared on his face, as he muttered, "I'm sure you'll be one of the greatest Hokage's one day, Dobe."
"Nani?"
"Nothing. I didn't say anything." Sasuke abruptly told Naruto, his face tinting slightly pink as he said so.
"Okay? Anyways, go on, say what I told you to."
"Again?"
"Again."
Sasuke swallowed, a groan of annoyance escaping his mouth. "Naruto-kun! I love you so much!"
Naruto blinked several times, it was his turn for his tan cheeks to go bright red, "And?"
"And you're my best friend." Sasuke replied, with less enthusiasm, "Can I go now?"
"Oh, yeah, sorry Sasu-chan, I forgot." Naruto said laughing, quickly releasing Sasuke's hands and running away.
"Tch, usuratonkachi." Sasuke said, rubbing his arms and quickly catching up with Naruto. The two quickly ran, till Naruto turned to ask Sasuke a question, and ran right into Sakura Haruno. Sasuke, who had been focused on where he was going, stopped himself before he could crash into Hinata. "Sakura-chan?" Naruto said, rubbing his head. She had just hit him, and it was starting to hurt more and more with every passing second, "I'm so sorry that I hit you, it was an accident! I swear! I can make it up to you! I promise!" He rambled, a concerned look on his face.
"Baka-Naruto! I'm not here for you!" She began to shout, before running up to Sasuke, engulfing him in a hug, "Sasuke-kun! I forgive you!I know you really didn't mean what you said to me! You were just annoyed because of Naruto, right? I was so worried that I had to ditch training to look for you! And I had to drag Hinata with me to find you! That shows how much I care!" Part of this was true, but most was all a lie. Yes, she was worried, but it was Kakashi-Sensei's idea to go looking for the boys, and Hinata volunteered when she heard that Naruto was with Sasuke. Sasuke groaned, and shoved the girl away. "Whatever, Sakura." He said, walking over to Naruto, who's leg was being tended to, by Hinata. "N-Naruto-kun, you need to be more careful," she said, wrapping up his ankle, and sliding his sandal back onto his foot, "you could seriously hurt yourself."
"I'm sorry Hinata!" Naruto said, wincing, "But I'm Naruto Uzumaki, the future Hokage of Konoha, Dattebayo! I'll be all right."
Hinata quietly giggled, "I know you will, Naruto-kun."
Naruto was about to thank the girl, when he was lifted up by a certain raven-haired boy, and yelped instead.
Sasuke helped Naruto stand up, wrapping the blonde's hand around his neck, allowing him to rest on him.
"I'll help Naruto get home, thank-you, Hinata, for your help."
Sakura was quiet, and her left eye began twitching violently. As Hinata quietly asked if she could follow, whilst slowly turning pink, Sakura grabbed her hand and dragged the girl away, interrupting her, and preventing her from getting a response.
The walk out of the forest, was quiet, due to Naruto falling asleep halfway, and Sasuke not wanting to wake him up, but the one to Naruto's place was nothing like that.
"How'd you know where I live, eh, Sasu-chan?"
"I told you to stop calling me that."
"Oh, I'm sorry, Sasu-chan."
Sasuke sighed, and moved closer to Naruto, whispering in the boy's ear, "You don't seem sorry, Naru-chan."
Naruto turned pink, but only for a second. Then he grabbed Sasuke's face, and gently turned it to meet their eyes, "I like it better when I say it, Sasu-chan."
Even though he had said Sasu-chan in a playful tone, it still caught the raven-haired boy offguard, and made him turn pink, whilst he spluttered and coughed, letting go of the arm he used to support Naruto in the process.
Naruto cursed under his breath due to the pressure than was put on his injured foot, but he quickly went to attend to Sasuke. "Are you all right, Teme?"
"Shut up, Dobe." Sasuke replied, his voice slightly croaky, and him wheezing from his previous spluttering incident. Suddenly, Naruto started to laugh. Sasuke lost his cool!
Sasuke felt his face heat up, even more than it had before. "Why are you laughing, Dobe?" He choked out, looking away from the blonde in effort to hide the situation going on, on his face. "Sasuke lost his cool!" Naruto laughed, saying his thoughts out loud. Sasuke frowned, and let out an embarrassed 'Hn' from his mouth.
"Whatever, Dobe." The raven-haired continued, "Get the door open, so I can drop you inside and check your bandaging." He said, once again helping to balance the blonde boy carefully on the floor as he looked for his house keys. "Here they are." He mumbled, reaching out to unlock the door. Once the door was opened, Sasuke walked Naruto to his bed, shutting the door with his foot. As he made his way inside, dodging several discarded empty ramen cups, and clothes that were probably thrown onto the floor, he asked Naruto for his first aid kit. That question received a groan in response, as he pointed to a pile of clothes. Sasuke dug into the clothes, and pulled out the medical kit. Then he started to inspect the bandaging. "It seems I didn't need to look for this at all." He said, "She wrapped it up pretty good."
"Teme."
"Shut up, Dobe." Sasuke replied, grabbing Naruto's jaw, checking for any injuries, "Your face isn't hurt, that's good." He mumbled to himself.
Sasuke caught himself before he did anything he would come to regret in the future. His fingers gently traced the whisker marks on the blonde's face, before he pulled them away.
Naruto, who was shocked at the Uchiha's words, grabbed Sasuke's milky hand and pulled him onto the small bed, along with the first-aid kit. "Stupid Teme, stop worrying about me." He grumbled, "Have you checked on yourself? What if you hurt your face. Your pale, pretty face that everyone adores. Most importantly, that I adore. The face that I want to kiss several times a day. The face I can't stop thinking about on the daily. Your face."
Sasuke turned pink, his eyes widening in surprise, and the same did Naruto. "Did I say that out loud?"
"Yes you did, Dobe."
"Well, can I?"
"Tch, can you what Naruto?" Sasuke groaned, rolling his eyes. He frowned, giving off the image that he was pissed with Naruto, but the color of his cheeks said otherwise.
"Can I kiss you Sasuke?"
"Dobe! You don't just ask questions like that!" Sasuke muttered quietly, his cheeks getting an even more saturated pink. Naruto stared at the raven-haired boy, before gently grabbing his face. He hesitantly connected their lips, gaining a look of shock on Sasuke's face. The raven-haired boy tried to open his mouth to speak, causing their tongues to meet, making them jolt away from each other. Naruto laughed, whilst Sasuke glared at him. "Teme, what the heck?" He choked out, giggling like a drunk schoolgirl. Sasuke flushed pink and looked away from the blonde, "Shut up, Naruto."
"Come on Sasu-chan, don't be like that-" Naruto began to say, before receiving a swat on the head from Sasuke, as he used the nickname that the Uchiha loathed, mostly because it made him lose his cool, and feel hot and fluttery inside. Like a girl. Like Sakura, probably. He shuddered at the thought. Naruto rubbed his head, looking out of his room window, "I guess it's too late to get to our mission." He chuckled.
"And it's too late for me to walk home without high-risk of attack." Sasuke continued.
"Unless I follow you, like a knight in shining armor!" Naruto laughed, "Be my damsel in distress Sasu-cha-"
Another swat was delivered to the back of Naruto's head. "Or you can stay here," he mumbled, once again rubbing his head, "Or you can stay here."
Naruto got down from the bed, and started rummaging through one of his cupboards. He brought out an instant noodles cup, no, two instant noodle cups, and proceeded to prepare them.
"So," Sasuke started, the question he was aching to ask coming slowly out of his mouth, '
"what are we? In a romantic context." He added, before Naruto could make any stupid comments.
"Whatever you want, Teme, as long as I get to kiss your cute little face whenever I want!" He said, reaching over to pinch Sasuke's cheeks. A blunt expression came over Sasuke's face, and the blonde Uzumaki broke out in laughter. He held up Sasuke's chin and whispered to the raven-haired boy, "To be honest, you have a cute everything." Sasuke turned pink, and faced away from the blonde, in effort to hide his face. Naruto laughed again, "What's the matter, Sas-uke?" He said, giggling once more, due to his little pun on Sasuke's name.
Sasuke retaliated by kicking one of the noodle cups, resulting in it spilling. Naruto quickly grabbed the other cup, protectively hiding it with his orange jacket, "Whatever Teme, that one was yours." He said, stifling a laugh as he brought his noodle cup back out. Sasuke glared at the Uzumaki, and watched as he ate in silence. His annoyance then seemed to get the best of him, as he got down from the bed and began to wrestle the blonde for his cup. "You know, Teme, if you wanted some, you could have just asked." Naruto laughed, snatching the chopsticks from Sasuke.
"I don't want any, and even if I did, you wouldn't make me another cup-"
Sasuke was interrupted when Naruto put his chopsticks into his mouth, along with a bunch of noodles.
"There you go, Sasu-chan."
"Shut up, danna, you're becoming an irritant." Sasuke smirked.
Naruto laughed, then his eyes widened, and then he nearly choked to death. He always knew ramen would kill him one day, but he never expected in that way.
"So," Naruto said, after he recovered from his choking incident, and the embarrassment that came with it, "will you go out with me?"
Sasuke groaned, "Of course, Dobe, yes I'll go out with you." He couldn't help but feel satisfied with himself, when Naruto's eyes lit up, and he ran to hug him. "You can let go now, Dobe."
"Shut up, Teme." Naruto said, leaning towards the raven-haired boy's face. He connected their lips, once again, pushing Sasuke onto his bed. Naruto grabbed Sasuke's face, whilst the Uchiha's hands rested on his shoulders. Once they separated, Naruto pecked Sasuke on the forehead, gaining a pink color appearing on the Uchiha's face.
"I really, really like you Teme."
"Shut up, Dobe." Sasuke muttered, "I really, really like you too."
Meanwhile, in Naruto's head, a thought kept pestering him.
Should I tell him? It pushed.
Should I tell him that I'm the Kyuubi's Jinchuruki?
