Sakura pulled Hinata, and pushed her against the nearby Sakura tree. She pushed the girl gently, though, afraid to hurt her friend.
"Hinata," she muttered, avoiding eye contact with the girl, she was afraid that Hinata had moved on from Naruto, and was now trying to get with her Sasuke-kun, she didn't want to lose another friend, not again, "do you like Sasuke-kun?"
Hinata froze, then she started to laugh, at first it was a quiet giggle, but it began to rise in volume to a loud chuckle.
Sakura's face went as pink as her hair, "What? Why are you laughing?"
"Sakura," she said in between her chuckles, "I like Kiba-kun."
Sakura's face was blank. Hinata liked Kiba?
"But you were so eager to follow him!"
"Because, N-Naruto-kun was going to be there..."
"So? You still like Naruto?" Sakura questioned, leaning towards the purple-haired girl.
"I do, but, it's obvious that he doesn't notice or reciprocate my feelings for him, he is dense, when it comes to that," she quietly laughed to herself, "and all the more reason I love Naruto-kun, but, ever since Neji nii-san told me to start being more attentive, it became obvious that he has feelings for a certain-"
"A certain who?" Sakura questioned, her face quickly going closer to Hinata's.
Hinata turned pink at the close proximity of her friend, their noses were touching, and she could feel Sakura breathing against her neck. Slowly, she turned an even darker shade of pink.
"Uh, S-Sakura-chan..."
Sakura's face held a confused look, until her eyes widened with realization, and she moved back speedily, her face going as pink as her hair as she did so.
"I'm so sorry Hinata!" She said waving her arms around, "I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable, I swear!"
"It's fine, Sakura, really, you don't need to apologise."
Finally becoming aware of her mistake, Sakura stopped pestering Hinata about Sasuke-kun, and they slowly began to walk away from the tree. It was just a silly little mistake she made, right? Hinata liking Sasuke-kun? The thought made her laugh.
Little did they know, there was someone else with them, that had been listening in on their conversation, an uninvited guest, or you could say, two uninvited guests. These people decided to go pester Naruto about their sudden found information.
By this time, the pink-haired girl had completely forgotten about Naruto's secret feelings for a certain person.
Or at least it seemed so to Hinata, who invited Sakura to go out for ramen.
As the two walked, hands brushing each other, something popped up into Sakura's head.
"Please, don't tell me Naruto likes Ino-pig!" She exclaimed, grabbing the purple-haired girl, to get her to turn to face her, "Please."
Hinata froze, guilt building up inside her.
"What, Hinata? What did I do? Why are you all quiet and sweaty?"
"Oh, it's nothing, I just, I feel bad for telling you Naruto-kun's secrets."
Sakura's face morphed into one of hurt, "No, I see, it's because you don't think I'm trustworthy, isn't it? You think I'm just going to go spilling out everything you told me with my big, stupid, loud mouth, don't you?" The pink-haired girl grabbed Hinata's small hands, "Hinata, I promise, I won't tell anyone about this, I promise, just, please trust me, okay?"
Hinata shyly twiddled her fingers, "Sakura, you have my trust." She began. Sakura's face lit up immediately, "But, I didn't say that because I don't trust you. I said that because I'm not a hundred percent sure of the certain person."
Sakura blinked, once, then twice. Then several times more. "You what?"
"I- I'm not sure, at least, not completely. But, I'm convinced, a little bit, that Naruto-kun is fond of this person."
Sakura edged the girl on, shaking Hinata's shoulders.
"I'm convinced that Naruto-kun has a crush on.." she paused, squeezing her hands and shutting her eyes, trying not to cry. Sakura didn't know, but this was really hurting her.
"No, he's in l-love with you."
She pointed at Sakura, whilst the said girl's eyes widened and she let out an audible gasp.
"Hinata, you're serious, right?" Sakura asked, leaving the nearly crying girl unnoticed.
"Yes, Sakura, he's in love with either you," the Hyuuga silently asked herself how to explain this to the pink-haired girl, "Or Sasuke."
"Nani?"
"It's more likely to be Sasuke, than you, though he used to really, really like you." The purple haired girl forced herself to spill out.
"S-Sasuke-kun and Naruto?" Sakura choked out. No, it wasn't possible. It couldn't be possible.
"Sakura! Don't get all worked up over my observations!" Hinata bent her head downwards, "These are just observations! Th-that's all they are!..."
Sakura knew Hinata was lying, they weren't just observations, she was hiding the truth, so she could protect her friend, she could see it in her posture.
But then again, the truth hurts.
"You- you're lying! I know you are! You're lying about everything! You think I'm some joke or something, don't you? Don't you!" The girl shoved Hinata, and ran away, feeling betrayed. Hinata reached out her hand, and gave chase to catch the pinkette.
"Sakura! I'm sorry!"
Hinata panted, trying to catch her breath, as Sakura slammed her house door. She knocked several times, until the door was opened by Sakura's mother, Mebuki.
"A- Ah," Hinata stumbled over her words, as when opening the door, she expected to see pink hair, "M-Mrs. Haruno!" she respectfully bowed her head down, "Konbanwa, Mrs. Haruno, I came to meet Sakura, may I please come in?"
Mebuki laughed, "Of course darling, you're one of her friends, right?" Her smile then reduced to a frown, her kind, yet aged forehead creasing, "She ran in crying, and she refused to talk to me. Do you know what happened?"
Hinata's felt herself becoming sweaty, guilt apparent on her face. She quietly lowered her head and mumbled, "Iie, no I don't, I'm just here to comfort her, that's all."
Mebuki gave the short girl a knowing smile. "She's upstairs," the woman smiled, "I hope she forgives you."
Hinata blushed, as her lies were easily intercepted by the older woman.
"Arigatou gozaimasu, Mrs. Haruno, my name is H-Hinata, Hinata H-Hyuuga," she said, walking up the stairs, "Yorishiku gozaimasu."
"Yorishiku, Hinata! It was nice meeting you as well!"
As she stopped by the tip of the stairs, Hinata could hear loud muffled sounds, coming from a nearby room, so she assumed that it was Sakura's.
"Hello Sakura," she said tapping on the door, "it's.. Hinata."
"Get out of here Hinata, just, go away before I say something that I'll regret."
She heard Sakura say, and the loud clunking sound of Sakura leaning against the door could be heard. Hinata sighed in relief, as she hadn't accidentally knocked on Sakura's father's door.
"I'm so sorry, Sakura-chan, please forgive me. I'll do anything for you to stop crying."
The door was the only thing dividing the two girls. But, slowly, it started to creak open.
Hinata ran to hug Sakura. "Sakura, please, forgive me, gomen, truly."
Sakura let out a choked laugh. After wiping her tears with her hands, she returned the hug.
"I'm sorry for running away Hinata, I shouldn't have done that," the girl clenched her hands, balling them into fists, "I shouldn't have been so weak."
"No, Sakura, you-"
Sakura hugged the girl tighter, "And I shouldn't have pretended that I didn't see you near tears, I know you still love Naruto."
"And I know you love Sasuke, that's why I didn't want to tell you-"
Sakura sighed, "You know what? Let's just forget about the boys, Sasuke-kun never loved me, and he probably never will. I need to get over it. I need to get over him."
She then leaned forward to Hinata, and both of their lips connected.
Hinata gasped, and her actions met Sakura, who quickly separated from the purple-haired girl.
"I'm sorry Hinata! I shouldn't have! I just- I wanted to emphasize- not needing the- eh?" She lost focus as Hinata tightly embraced Sakura.
"That was my first kiss... shared with a girl at least." Sakura's face morphed into an apologetic one, as at that moment, she hadn't noticed what Hinata specifically said, she was about to speak, when she was interrupted by Hinata, "And I'm happy I shared it with you."
Sakura tackled her friend onto her bed.
"Oh, Hinata!"
The two lay down on Sakura's bed, looking up at the ceiling.
"So, Hinata," Sakura spoke, after thinking back to their conversation earlier, "Have you kissed Kiba?"
Hinata turned pink.
"How did- eh?"
"Earlier, you said I was your first kiss, the first kiss you've had with a girl, meaning you've kissed someone before. Right?"
"H-Hai," Hinata quietly said, stumbling over her words, "yes Sakura."
Sakura's eyes widened, "I knew it! You kissed Kiba, right? Right?"
Hinata flushed pink once more, answering Sakura's question for her.
"Tell me what happened! Tell me, tell me!"
Hinata sat up, smiling slightly, "Okay, Sakura."
And the two sat on the bed, as Hinata began her story.
