You can't seem to find your excitement from the other day as your alarm clock begins to blare bright and early at 6-something in the morning. Groaning, you hit snooze harder than you really needed to and turned over, snuggling further into your comforter. You began to drift off again..."(Y/N)!"
Fuck.
The door to your room slams open, and you try to hide in your blanket as if it'll shield you from the wrath of your brother.
"I heard your alarm go off. Get up, you lazy son of a bitch! No snoozing today-you are not going to be late!"
"Holy shit," you grumbled, rubbing at your eyes. "It literally just went off. Give me a second."
There was a long pause before you heard footsteps come closer and felt the blanket get aggressively ripped from your body. You yelped, curling into a ball from the assault of the chill morning air.
"JESUS, OKAY! I'm up!" You surrendered, teeth chattering as you sat up and rubbed at your arms. You glanced up at your brother, who dropped your comforter back onto the bed in a pile. He glared.
"You better make it snappy, (y/n). Don't want to lose that job you were so excited for the other night. I meant what I said, I will kick-"
"You don't have to be such a whiny bitch all the time, dude," you yawned. Swinging your legs over the side of the bed, you stood up and stretched, relishing in the feeling of your back and joints popping. You let your arms flop back down to your sides and shuffled past your brother, who began to make your bed up for you, gesturing a truce.
You trudged into the bathroom and did your morning routine before heading back into your room. You grab the uniform Mr. Guy had given you and begin to slip it on. Glancing in the mirror, you took a second to judge your reflection. It was a pretty simple uniform, really, and it didn't look too bad on you. It was a nice shade of red with stripes of orange going down one side, and some pale yellow accents on the shoulders. You chose a pair of black pants to tuck it into before sauntering into the kitchen for breakfast.
You ate (breakfast of choice) while watching (b/n) skitter between different rooms of the apartment, seemingly in a rush for his own job. Hypocrite.
"Now remember," he began as he slid into the kitchen, messing with the buttons on his shirt. "No attitude towards your boss or customers. Smile. Be punctual-you can't squeal in there at 8 on the dot, now!"
"Who do you take me for, man?" You began to laugh before seeing the knowing expression on his face. You opted to stuff your face with more food.
"Just don't mess this up," (b/n) sighed before scurrying back out of the kitchen, grabbing his wallet and keys on the way. "Good luck. I'll see you tonight."
You hummed in acknowledgement as you heard the front door shut. You glanced at the clock on the microwave: 7:15. It would take about 30 minutes to walk to the pizzeria, so you figured you should wrap things up and get moving. You scarfed down the last bit of your food before grabbing your things and shuffling out of the apartment, beginning your trek to work.
--
You arrived a little after 7:45, pulling at the already wilted collar of your uniform-Jesus, it was hot today. You had to get a car, and quick. You can't be coming into work everyday drenched with sweat. You entered the building, this time greeted by Mr. Guy at the reception desk, who was busying himself with wiping it down.
"Ah, Ms. (l/n)! Thanks for being here early!" He chirped, standing upright to greet you. "We have 15 minutes til we open, so I'll go ahead and introduce you to the other staff."
