You opened the door and almost screamed as Dave appeared right in front of you.

"Took ya long enough," he grumbled, shouldering past you. "I gotta get ready."

"Sorry. Do I look alright now?" You quizzed, holding your arms out to the side. He glanced over at you and grinned.

"Ya say that like you didn't before."

"Uh, yeah, I don't appreciate you letting me walk around with drool all over my face."

"Hey, 's not like we're in public. I thought it was cute."

You huffed in embarrassment, going back to wait on the couch til he was ready.

After to making it to work, you immediately were thrust into your duties for the day. You felt like you barely had a moment's rest with all the party planning, cleaning, and handling rowdy ass kids. However, a few hours into your shift, Mr. Guy came to relieve you from supervising in Kid's Cove.

"Someone called really needing to speak with you," he murmured without looking away from the swarm of children around Toy Foxy. "They're on the line in my office."

"Did they say who they were?"

"It was your brother, I believe."

A pang of worry hit you, and you nodded. "Okay. Thanks, Mr. Guy, I'll try to make it quick."

He waved you off. "Don't worry. Take your time."

Hurrying to his office, you closed the door behind you and picked up the phone. "Hello? (b/n)?" You spoke tentatively, "is everything alright?"

"Why the hell didn't you come home last night?!" He yelled so loud you pulled the phone back a little in shock. Cringing, you slowly brought it back, tuning into his rant.

"Fuck, I was worried sick! You're lucky I didn't call the police, really--just where the hell were you?!"

"Sorry," you managed to squeak out. "I was out late and stayed with a friend. I forgot to call, I'm sorry."

"A friend? Who?"

You swallowed thickly. "Uh, Dave."

Anticipating the screaming this time, you quickly yanked the phone away from your ear, grimacing at the muted drone of him cussing you out. Bravely, you leaned in again.

"--I oughta castrate that hick! You had no business staying with him! You didn't have sex, did you? (y/n), I swear to God--"

"Nothing happened," you interjected, reddening a little at the accusations. "Look, (b/n), I know it's easy for you to forget since I'm your little sister, but I am an adult."

"Regardless--"

"Sorry for worrying you. I need to get back to work now. I'll see you tonight."

"Hey, wait!"

With that you slammed the phone back down on the receiver, not even bothering to say goodbye.
--
When your break finally came, you slumped, not even feeling like eating the sandwich you'd packed. (b/n) yelling at you was the cherry on top of a no-good day.

You felt a hand poke the back of your head and looked up with a groan, Jeremy's bright visage coming into view. There was a sympathetic quality to his smile as he plopped down in front of you. "They're really kicking our asses today, huh?"

"Yeah, kids are little bastards," you grunted, sitting up a little more. "One kept trying to get up on the stage, and after the third time I had to stop him he kicked me in the shin."

He hissed as he cracked open a soda. "Ouch."

"The mom was mad at me, too!" You continued, hands coming up to rub at your temples. "Some shit about not touching her child--I wouldn't have to if you'd keep a better eye on the damn gremlin!"
