"That doesn't surprise me. I already felt weird about letting all these Arusians walk in and out of the Castle like this. We need to keep lookout," Shiro said, starting to tense.
"How did you figure all this out already?" Keith asked. "I mean, when she told me about her visions, it was a little strange."
Shiro didn't even look at him. "Keith, when (Y/N) and I were in a crew together, she always wanted to do things, often on her own too. I had to teach her how to be part of a team, but she learned quickly. She started to share things with us, and often it helped our team grow to be what it was. She's smart Keith, and she doesn't normally have reason to make up things."
Keith chuckled. "Oh, believe me, I know she's smart."
In the awkward silence, Keith looked around and found me alone in the back of the room. Chills went down his spine as he remembered earlier today.
"Something wrong?" Shiro asked as he noticed Keith staring.
"Uh, no, no." He muttered.
"Hm," Shiro smiled to himself. "I could hear your fight with her earlier today. Actually, I think the whole castle did."
Keith sucked in a breath. "That's unfortunate," he sadly chuckled.
"She reminds you of your mom, doesn't she?"
Keith swallowed, his blood beginning to heat. Shiro wasn't wrong, and Keith's silence answered that.
"You know, I know you're scared. You found someone that makes you happy again, and you're afraid you're gonna lose her too."
Keith blushed bright red. "W-What? No!"
Shiro chuckled and patted him on the back. "Dude, it's ok. We don't have to talk about it. But, I do think you should make up with her. I think she has been feeling a little down lately, and I wouldn't be all that surprised if she did feel like leaving. She always has things she wants to do," Shiro told him.
Keith just nodded silently. He put a hand over his mouth as his face began to go back to its normal shade.
"Not feeling well?" Coran asked Keith, walking up to him and Shiro. "Try some Nunvill. Settles the stomach and brightens your smile."
"I'm not sure we should be letting everyone wander in and out of the Castle like this. It doesn't seem safe," Shiro said.
"Oh, these Arusians won't hurt anything...much" Coran said as some Arusians were playing with a hover platter.
And crash went the Arusians.
"Besides, it's only fair to let them see the inside of a Castle that's been sitting on their planet for so long."
"But who knows when Zarkon will attack again? I'm going to do a perimeter check, just in case."
Shiro walked out of the room and out of the Castle, leaving Keith with his thoughts.
"You have fun with that," Coran called as he walked off.
Keith sighed. "Shiro's right," he said to himself. "I need to talk to her before she does anything stupid."
He turned around to go back to where he had seen me alone, but to his surprise, I was gone.
After I had seen Coran walk away from Keith and Shiro, I had gone to go and talk to him about getting a pod to leave. As always, he was very happy to talk to me, but I knew that wouldn't last long.
"I need a favor," I told him.
"Of course (Y/N). What is it? Anything!" He smiled, continuing to sip his Nunvill.
