This is a reboot of the original book I made weeks ago. I'm here with a brand new plot, a different setting, but it will be set in the Modern Warfare (2019) Universe.
3 years after the main events of Modern Warfare, a collective bunch of mercenaries...
Back at the makeshift outpost, everyone gathers around a table inside one of the tents where Xu has his laptop connected to a projector so everyone in the room can observe what Seiryu uncovered back at the hotel from his USB, which is plugged into Xu's computer. Now, they're looking at what looks to be a photograph of the mountainside town of Jiufen, which is in the Southern part of Taiwan.

看起来我们阻止了他们——" (Looks like they were in the midst of plotting an attack. Looks like we stopped them--)
(No, Xu. We didn't. We delayed them. There are members of the Red Cross and soldiers of the NPLACCP already there waiting for the orders. They're like sleeper agents, Xu. And they're there, waiting patiently for the word to go out so they can start massacring civilians.)
Everyone there, looks and they watch as Xu and Seiryu speak with one another in their mandarin dialect.
(Look, I say we do a preemptive strike on those soldiers and fighters before they get word. We've got an open window of opportunity, let's take it and strike, Xu.)
J-- (Listen to me... I'll inform my higher-ups, and until then, we'll see what they say. Look. My hands are tied when it comes to these rules of engagement. They tell me where, they tell me when, but they don't tell me or my people how. If they say we strike on the day they'll attack, we do it. Otherwise, we'll look like monsters in the eyes of our people. They'll think we're picking on civilians for shits and giggles, J--)
(Xu, then tell them that you want to take the gloves off. Break free from the rules of engagement and do what I do, fight with the gloves off. It's not easy, I know... but it's the only method I know if we're going to save our country. We can't strike on that day, civilians will die. They will die because your peers chose to strike later than now.)
Xu looks at Seiryu before leaning into his seat to think. He then looks at everyone before signalling them to go outside as he needs time alone to think.
Xu: "I'd like some time out, please. Could you all please go outside for a bit?"
Everyone obliges his request and they start walking outside where they begin questioning Seiryu, nosy to wonder what he said to his cousin. First, it starts off with Deniz getting slightly hostile.
Deniz: "What the fuck did you say to him? You tryna get our asses kicked?"
Hoshiko: "Dude, what was that back there?"
Seiryu sits down on a bench where he sighs softly before responding to the questions and he looks them all in the eyes.
Seiryu: "I told him to fight without ROEs. I told him to take the gloves off and fight."
The mercs and Michael look at him, surprised by what he had told his cousin and Mikhail begins asking him a question.
Mikhail: "Could you translate that from metaphorical to English?"
The middle-eastern contractor, Gamila answers the question for Seiryu and she looks at him.
Gamila: "It means to fight like how our enemies do. Ruthlessly. Without the rules of engagement, Mikhail."
Seiryu: "There you have it."
He leans back in his bench as Dae walks away to his tent, yawning and Deniz follows him. Everyone but Gamila leaves Seiryu to be alone and the 2 sit together on the bench.
Gamila: "You know that some of these mercs will draw the line, right?"
Seiryu: "I understand. But my home's in danger from a bunch of Communists from the mainland. There's no other option I see if we're going to save my people."
Gamila: "Hm... I'm with you, all in, Seiryu."
The Taiwanese-Japanese man smiles at her before sitting back in his seat while everyone waits for an answer from Xu. Little does he know, Gamila glances at him as he looks at the tent that Xu's inside. She then looks away from him with a tint of pink on her cheeks.
Soon, about 2 minutes pass, and Xu walks outside the tent toward the bench Seiryu's on to speak with him.
(A preemptive strike is ordered, Seiryu. But they won't allow me to fight with the gloves off like you said.)
Seiryu nods, smiling before looking at Gamila and he pats her shoulder to have her look ate him as he informs her.
Seiryu: "We're doing a preemptive strike. We're going to knock them out before the whole massacre of theirs begins."
She smiles before looking at Xu who informs the 2 of them in English right before walking away to the tent to inform everybody else.
Xu: "We're going tomorrow morning. Get some rest you 2..."
