An Assignment To Accomplish (Rebooted)

Seiryu hums a tune as he drives the van down the road of Hong Kong toward the Zhuhai Bridge Eyes peeled, he stays sharp like a hawk keeping a lookout for potential threats as he drives safely through the streets. Next to him, Xu looks out and at the side-view mirror, also keeping a lookout. Soon, he lets out a small sigh as he turns to face Seiryu.

Xu: "What the hell are we doing here?"

Seiryu: "Stopping the enemy."

Xu: "While harming civilians?"

Seiryu: "I've said it before, China won't know it's us, nor will the civilians."

Xu: "Surely there must be alternative methods than this..."

Seiryu: "There aren't. Since you're doing what I do: Gloves off, it will get dirty. When they're off, you get them covered in blood, Xu... It's just how wars of the modern world works. There's no other way to keep your hands clean unless you want them tied with the gloves on."

Xu: "You calling my tactics worthless? However you see it, the most appropriate route would be to engage when we're told...Yes, it's frustrating, but this is the better way—

Seiryu: "If you're not comfortable with complying, I'm happy to cut you loose from this. Why are you even here if you're not wanting to take this route? You know this is an unsanctioned job."

A moment of silence fills the van's front as Xu sits back quietly, looking out the window before shortly responding with a sigh.

Xu: "I'm here because I don't want your father to be alone..."

Upon hearing his father being mentioned, Seiryu looks at Xu once more in reflection before focusing on driving as Xu speaks.

Xu: "I'm here because I care for you, I'm here to make sure that you manage to get home. You are my cousin. A member of the family."

Upon hearing the following, Seiryu smiles softly as he drives, touched by his cousin's words. He speaks to Xu.

Seiryu: "Well, family reasons aside, are you with me?"

Xu: "I..."

Seiryu: "I understand if you're not comfortable... As I said just now, if you're not comfortable, you can draw the line and go. The only way we can prevent our endgame is if we fight back with the gloves off. What a friend of mine once said: "We get dirty and the whole world stays clean, that's the mission". Someone needs to make the enemy fear the dark, Xu. Tactics change in today's combat."

Hearing his words, Xu looks out the window at the Hong Kong skyline which they drive by as he then speaks to Xu, answering his question from earlier.

Xu: "I guess... I guess I'm all in."

Seiryu: "Good. Let's stop Hui before he kills more of our people."

He begins accelerating the van, driving it down the road toward the sea bridge dead ahead. They begin crossing it, passing the checkpoint and begin heading toward Macau as everyone sits back, patiently as the van speeds up slightly. It begins entering the underwater tunnel, still part of the bridge and is accelerating fast.

As the clock ticks, in the back of the van, Hoshiko sits against the wall, yawning and looking at the door, out the window to see that they're in the tunnel. He reaches into his duffel bag and grabs out a gun, unlike the one he used previously in Taiwan. This is a new weapon.

Beside him, Gamila looks as he pulls it out to inspect it; perhaps to also show it off as he lifts up the lid to inspect the bullet chain before closing it up and putting it away.

Gamila: "When did you get that?"

Hoshiko: "Hm? The Icarus? This morning, why?"

Gamila: "That's funny, I got a new weapon too."

She unzips her bag, grabbing out an M16 with an extended mag, scope, noon tube/grenade launcher and laser sight to help with accuracy.

Hoshiko: "Hmph, not bad... I see you got yourself a launcher on that thing."

Gamila: "It helps out a lot. Even when the enemy's all together in one spot."

Hoshiko: "Gnarly...nice."

Dae grabs his bag, unzips it and grabs a Lachman 556 from it, modified and set to be used by him. He checks the magazine before putting it back into the gun and cocks it as he puts it away. As for Deniz, he's got an Expedite 12 with him, with a plastic bag filled with slugs. Roger and August both have new weapons too. In August's bag, he's got a disassembled FSS Hurricane while Roger has a BAS-P, disassembled and is currently reassembling it right now.

On the other hand, Mikhail has a KASTOV-74U which he's currently adjusting while Michael, the Marine is currently polishing an M4 in his hand before he puts it away. Noticing this, Hoshiko looks around, seeing everyone not only revealing their new weapons but also adjusting them.

Hoshiko: "Huh, guess we weren't the only ones with new guns, eh, Gamila?"

Gamila: "It would seem so..."

Back in the front, Seiryu looks straight ahead, seeing light at the end of the underwater tunnel. The van drives out into the open where they're back on the surface. Just ahead of the van in the distance, the lights of Macau shine brightly where it can be visible from the team's current position.

Seiryu: "There's the city. Possible ETA...I think 5-4 minutes."

Xu: "Hm. Let's hope shorter. NPLACCP could be thinking fast, plotting their next strike."

Seiryu: "Plotting..."

He recalls the attack back home in Taipei... The gas. He remembers the gas used by their calculative strike. Seiryu takes a glimpse at Xu, looking back at the road again as he remembers the gas.

Seiryu: "The gas... Chemical warfare on civilians."

Xu: "War crimes... An effective pitiless tool to plant seeds of fear into nations."

Seiryu: "The gas is the most effective weapon in their arsenal. Whatever they're plotting, they might perform another gas attack on Taiwan, or maybe other nations..."

Xu: "The terrorists that Hui's with are desparate to turn our home into a communist's paradise; China claims to own Taiwan... Do you think that he's..."

Seiryu: "Probably... Whatever it is we'll get the full and legitimate explanation from him before we kill him... Sit tight."

He speeds up on the bridge as they come closer to Macau, ready to search for the NPLACCP Commander and the leader of the Terrorist group, Red Cross, no matter what.
