Destiny is new to Summercreek Middle School. Her dad came in as the new boys basketball coach for the school. She was nervous to be around new peers or meet anyone at all, but she loved basketball. Though, some of that would change when she met Isaa...
First day at a new school. New team. New friends. New life.
*Beep Beep Beep*
My phone alarms went off, but I was already up. I couldn't sleep because of everything being new.
"Nyny (nee-nee), you up?" My dad said knocking quietly on my door.
"Yeah."
"I cooked breakfast downstairs. Get dressed and ready and come eat." He said walking away from the door.
I sat up and grabbed my glasses from my side table and put them on. "Oh my god." I said shaking my head. I got up and walked to my closet. I didn't want to grab anything super dressy.

Next, I put my contacts in and started my hygiene routine. After doing my hygiene, I grabbed my backpack, basketball, and water bottle before running downstairs.
"Hey NyNy. How'd you sleep?" My dad say putting some bacon on a plate and sliding it to me.
I put my stuff down and sat at the island. "Good until 30 minutes before I had to get up."
He sighed. "I know it's hard, but I have a feeling we'll be staying here for a while." I nodded at the idea and ate a piece of pancake. "Hurry because I have to be there an hour before school starts."
Once I finished eating we got in the car (a black Escalade, my dad loves them) to leave.
"Tomorrow there are basketball tryouts for the school team. Are you gonna stay or walk home?" He said looking at me through the rear view mirror.
"I don't know. I'll decide when I get home tonight. Right now, I don't know." I said tossing my basketball between my hands. "Can I come to the gym at the end of the day and shoot around?"
"Yeah, but since you didn't bring your shoes, not too much in those crocs."
I laughed. "Yes daddd."
7:30
He parked at the school and we both hopped out. I stared at the school.
"Summercreek Middle School" I said as my dad closed his car door.
"Come on, let's get your schedule and head to my office."
We walked inside and to the front office. "Hi, how may I help you?" The secretary said.
"I'm the new boys basketball coach. I came here two weeks ago, but I officially start today."
"Right! Here's your ID with the picture you took, and here's your daughter's schedule." She handed my schedule to me.
