Aizawa huffed as he plopped down on the couch. This whole situation was a mess, and the last thing he needed right now was petty drama.

Behind him, Kazu watched as the tired alpha sighed in frustration, wiping his eyes. She looked down at Eri who was drying her face with a towel.

"Hey sweetie, would you like to go to your room and start on your homework? I'll be right there to help," she tells the little girl who nodded in acceptance.

She scampered off to her room and Kazu took the opportunity to approach Aizawa.

The young omega plopped down next to the alpha, giving him a curious look. The black eyes of Aizawa turned to give her a pointed look.

"So," she began. "Ex-girlfriend huh?"

Aizawa exhaled deeply as he leaned back against the couch. Just 24 hours ago they had been intimate in this very spot. Now he felt like everything around him was crumbling as his past caught up with him.

"Yeah," he said shortly. "I wasn't expecting this."

Kazu nodded her head, leaning her elbow against the cushions as she stared at him. "Want to talk about it?" She hoped he would say yes. She wanted to know everything about the strange woman and exactly what was going to happen from here on out.

"Not really," he mutters. "But I guess I do owe you an explanation."

Kazu's heart skipped a beat. Was he really going to tell her? She shifted against the couch to give him her full attention, her green eyes locking with his.

"Kori and I met in high school. She was the first woman I ever loved. We dated through our sidekick days and became Pro-Heroes together. We had so many plans...or so I thought," he pauses, swallowing thickly as the memories swelled in his mind. "Six months ago she left without a word. Her apartment was cleaned out and her phone was dead. I looked for her for weeks but everything came up empty."

Aizawa leaned his elbows against his knees as he rubbed his temples. Kazu's eyes cast down as she listened to his strained voice. She could hear the pain building in his throat.

"I was worried something had happened to her, but after a while, I figured she decided to move on and break things off. I mourned for her for months and decided to consume myself in teaching as much as I could."

Kazu hadn't realized that Aizawa had experienced a heart break, and it made her clench her fist in anger. How could anyone give up this passionate man in front of her? However, she couldn't help but feel grateful such events took place, otherwise she would surely be in a jail cell or some strange alpha's home.

"Now that she's...back, what's going to happen?" Between us, she wanted to add, but thought that maybe it would have been too obvious of her feelings for him.

"Honestly, I don't know. I don't know why she's here, or why she left me unannounced. If it were up to me, I'll drown myself in school work before dealing with it," he admitted and Kazu bit the inside of her cheek.

She didn't like his answer, but she knew why he would respond this way. Even though a man like Aizawa was always so calm and collected, he also got overwhelmed.

Kazu wanted to question more, but seeing how tired he was she decided to leave it alone for now. Reaching forward, she placed a calming hand on his knee. "I'm here for you, if you ever want to talk about how you are feeling."

The statement was such a simple one, but it made that pulsing organ in Aizawa's chest skip unnecessary beats. Pushing away the emotion that built on his throat, Aizawa brushed his hand over hers. "Come on, I'm sure that ice cream sundae is probably half melted by now." He moves to stand and Kazu lets out a chuckle.
