Y/N's POV
"Gosh, I'm all for healthy diets, but if Kakashi expects us to carry him around again, he might want to consider losing some weight," I said, gently setting him down on the bed.
"Quit complaining already. We made it, didn't we?" Sasuke shot back, as usual, picking a fight.
"Yeah, whatever. I'll tend to his injuries. That should help him wake up sooner."
I tied my hair back and focused on the task at hand, starting to heal Kakashi-sensei's injuries. Sasuke shrugged and followed the bridge builder's daughter, who was showing them the guest rooms.
Carefully, I began with his hand, then his Sharingan eye, and worked my way through the rest of his injuries. Once I was done, I sat nearby, pulling out a book to pass the time while he rested.
10 Minutes Later
"Where am I?" Kakashi-sensei's groggy voice broke the silence as he attempted to sit up.
"In heaven," I replied dryly, flipping a page in my book.
"Very funny," he muttered. "Are we at the bridge builder's house?"
"Yeah, and if you keep pushing yourself like this, you're going to end up in heaven for real," I said, closing the book as I heard footsteps approaching.
The door creaked open, and the bridge builder's daughter walked in. "Huh, it seems you're awake. How are you feeling?" she asked, checking on him.
"Just fine. Thank you for healing me," Kakashi replied.
"Oh, no, I didn't heal you. Your student did. She stayed beside you the whole time," she explained, smiling.
I slipped out of the room before Kakashi could say anything, heading to inform the others that he was awake.
Kakashi's POV
"She healed me, huh? Shouldn't be surprised," I thought, a small smile tugging at my lips.
"What about the others?" I asked the daughter, worried that they might have caused trouble while I was unconscious.
"They're downstairs. I'll call them if you'd like."
Before she could leave, Naruto and the others burst in.
"Kakashi-sensei! You're awake!" Naruto exclaimed, rushing to hug me.
"If the Sharingan takes this much of a toll on you, I don't think you should use it anymore," Sakura chimed in, concern evident in her voice.
"I agree with Sakura," Y/N added. "You're not as young as you used to be."
"What? But I'm barely 19!" I shot back, offended.
"Wait, for real? I thought you were 30," Naruto said, his eyes wide.
"How old did you all think I was?"
"Twenty-five," Sasuke replied, nonchalant.
"Forty was my guess," Sakura said with a shrug.
I looked at Y/N, hoping for a lifeline. "Twenty-nine," she said with a sly smile.
Wow. This was depressing.
"Anyway," Y/N said, steering the conversation back. "There's something odd about the boy who took Zabuza."
"Yes," I agreed. "Normally, they would finish their enemy on the spot, but instead, he took Zabuza and left."
"You checked his vitals, though," Sakura said.
"Yes, but it could have been a temporary state. Besides, the weapon he used wouldn't have killed Zabuza."
