I'm In Naruto (Kakashi X Reader)

The four of them opened the door and walked in, seeing the large group of Genin they were supposed to beat out of the crowd. Six rookies, all huddled in the corner talking to one another, caught their attention. They slowly walked toward them.

"Sasuke!" Ino yelled, leaping toward Sasuke and hugging him.

"Let him go, Ino-pig!" Sakura shouted, raising her fist. Suddenly, she and Ino began throwing insults at each other.

"Man, what a drag," Shikamaru commented, yawning.

"Did you just wake up?" Y/N asked, making Shikamaru turn to her.

"Tsk, not with all the noise they've been making," Shikamaru said, pointing to the other Genin. Y/N laughed a little.

Suddenly, Kiba and Hinata stepped forward toward them.

"Hey, losers," Kiba said, mostly addressing Sasuke and Naruto.

"Surprised to see you here, Naruto," Kiba smirked, trying to act superior.

"H-Hello, Naruto," Hinata said quietly.

"Kiba," Naruto said, trying to pick a fight once again, while Sasuke looked at him with a smirk.

"Hey, guys," Choji said, walking forward before being stopped by Shino.

"Don't move," Shino said.

"What's your deal?" Choji asked.

Shino pointed to the floor. "You stepped on him."

With that, they all continued talking and arguing, attracting the attention of other Genin in the room.

"Hey, guys, you should quiet down, especially since you're just rookies," a boy with silver hair said, walking toward the 10 rookies.

Y/N's POV:

We all turned to Kabuto. Suddenly, Kiba and Sasuke stepped forward and asked him questions while the others listened. Honestly, I should stop them from even talking to him, but right now he's not dangerous. Still, it's bad...

"Y/N!" Naruto said suddenly, pulling her out of her daydream.

"Yes?" Y/N said, turning toward him.

"Are you okay? You kind of spaced out for a long time. I mean, even the proctor's here already. We're about to turn in our paperwork," Naruto said while pulling Y/N along toward the station. Once there, they were given their numbers. Naruto got a somewhat front-row seat, while Y/N got a back-row seat. They both wished each other good luck and went to sit down.

When Y/N sat down, she saw that Gaara was her neighbor. Oh, God, Y/N thought as she sat down. She noticed how everyone was very spread out and started thinking of a way to pass this exam.

"Now, my name is Ibuki, and I'm your proctor. This test is a written test. You will have to answer 10 questions in total. Your teammate and you will need to have 10 points altogether. If you don't, you fail. Your teammate will also need to have at least one question answered correctly, along with the 10 points total. No cheating. If you're caught, you will lose 2 points. If you cheat and get caught 5 times, you will automatically fail since you're unworthy of being here. I believe there's one person taking this test alone. The rules still apply, but you will need to get a straight 10 in order to pass," the proctor said.

With that, there were gossip and whispers about who the lone person was and about the test. Y/N ignored everything while Sakura and the others commented out loud. After a while, the test began, and Y/N quickly answered all the questions before laying her head down, peaking Gaara's interest. How did she finish so fast? Gaara and the other Chuunin thought as they watched Y/N sleep.

"I WON'T GIVE UP BECAUSE THAT'S MY NINJA WAY!" Naruto shouted, accidentally waking up Y/N in the process.

"Huh? So you think you got what it takes? Very well, you pass my exam," the proctor said, shocking everyone but the sleepy Y/N.

"What? But what about question 10 and the 10 points?" Sakura asked.

"You just did question 10, and the other was a bluff," Ibuki said.

Before they could answer another question, Anko smashed through the window, surprising the Genin.

"Hey, guys, I'm Anko, your next proctor. In this test, you might die," she started, before noticing the large number of kids left.

"Huh, did you get softer, Ibuki? There's way more than I expected," Anko said, annoying Ibuki.

"They just got better," was his reply before letting Anko take the lead and explain her test. Once she was done, they were dismissed.

"Ah, finally! I thought I was going to die in there," Sakura said, while Naruto nodded.

"Well, let's go tell Sensei that we passed," Y/N said before quickly speeding up, only to knock into someone.

"Huh, sorry," Y/N said, looking up and seeing Kakashi.

"Oh, don't worry about it, Y/N. So, it seems you all passed. Great job, you guys," Kakashi said, rubbing Y/N's head and smiling at the other students.

"You bet, it was a piece of cake," Naruto said, giving a thumbs-up and smiling.

Kakashi looked at Y/N for a moment, his usual nonchalant expression softening just slightly. "I knew you'd do well, Y/N," he said quietly, the faintest smile tugging at his lips. Y/N caught his gaze and returned a small, knowing smile, feeling a warmth spread in her chest.

With that, Kakashi explained where the next test was going to take place and dismissed them before asking Y/N to stay back.

"Yes, Kakashi-sensei, what is it?" Y/N asked.

"About this plan, are you sure you've got everything under control?" Kakashi asked, a little worried, though he was trying to hide it behind his usual calm demeanor.

Y/N smiled softly, her voice light but reassuring. "Yes, just trust me. Plus, if I need help, I'll make sure to tell you, okay? So don't worry too much, or you'll grow more gray hairs and turn into an old man."

Kakashi chuckled, his lips curving upward. "If I end up looking like that, it'll be all your fault."

Y/N laughed, her eyes shining. "Of course, I'll take full responsibility."

Kakashi smiled warmly at her, something genuine in his eyes. "Well, get going before you're late." He patted her head affectionately.

"Oh, shoot, you're right!" Y/N said, running off, but then she paused and turned back to give him a reassuring smile. "Thanks, Sensei."

"Good luck," Kakashi said softly, his gaze lingering on her as she disappeared into the crowd. And be careful, he thought, a subtle, protective feeling welling inside him.

Meanwhile in the grading room:

"She got a straight 100," one of the men said.

"But how? Isn't it supposed to be super hard? And she finished in less than 5 minutes!" another man said, shocked.

"Well, this just got interesting," the last man said with a smirk on his face.
