Naruto clenched his fists as he watched the ANBU take Haku away.
"This isn't right," he muttered.
Y/N glanced at him and nodded. "We need to figure out how to help him. He doesn't deserve this."Sasuke, who had been quietly observing, finally spoke up.
"What's the point of getting involved? It's not our fight," he said, crossing his arms.
Naruto spun around to face him. "Not our fight? Haku our friend he deserves to be free!""Naruto's right," Y/N added firmly. "Haku our friend like or not! We can't just stand by and let this happen."
Kakashi stepped in before the argument could escalate further.
"All right, that's enough," he said, his tone calm but firm. "I understand how you feel, but we need to approach this carefully. The elders are powerful, and defying them directly could get us all in trouble."Naruto huffed in frustration but didn't argue further. Y/N, however, wasn't ready to back down.
"So, what's the plan then, Sensei? Because I'm not just going to sit around while Haku gets treated like a criminal," she said, determination blazing in her eyes.Kakashi sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Let me talk to the Hokage. Maybe I can convince him to reconsider. In the meantime, I need all of you to stay out of trouble."
"Trouble? Us?" Naruto said with an exaggeratedly innocent expression.
Kakashi gave him a pointed look.
"I mean it. Stay out of it until I figure out a solution."Reluctantly, the group dispersed. Y/N headed to her usual training spot, needing to clear her mind. She couldn't shake the image of Haku being led away, his calm acceptance masking the pain she knew he felt.
As she practiced her jutsu, a voice interrupted her thoughts.
"You're really worked up about this, aren't you?"Y/N turned to see Shikamaru leaning against a tree, his usual lazy expression in place.
"What do you want, Shikamaru?" she asked, not in the mood for his cryptic remarks.
"Nothing, really. Just thought I'd point out that charging in without a plan isn't going to help Haku."
"And what do you suggest?" Y/N asked, crossing her arms.Shikamaru smirked. "You're smart. Figure it out. But if you need help... well, let's just say I have a few people in mind who would mind helping"
Y/N watched as he walked away, his words lingering in her mind. Maybe he was right. If they wanted to help Haku, they needed to be strategic about it.
Later that evening, she met up with Naruto at their usual spot near the village gates.
"I've been thinking," she said. "We need more information. If we can find out why the elders are so against Haku, maybe we can build a case to defend him."
Naruto nodded, his expression serious for once. "So, what's the plan?""We start by talking to people who might know something—the Hokage, maybe even some of the ANBU. And we'll need to be discreet," Y/N said.
"Discreet, huh?" Naruto said, scratching his head. "Not really my thing, but I'll try."Y/N couldn't help but smile. "Good. Let's get started."
As the two of them began to brainstorm, a shadow loomed behind them.
"Mind if I join?" came Sasuke's voice.Y/N and Naruto turned to see him standing there, his usual stoic expression in place.
"I thought you didn't want to get involved," Naruto said, narrowing his eyes.
"I don't," Sasuke replied. "But if you two are going to do something stupid, someone has to make sure you don't get yourselves killed."Y/N smirked. "Welcome to the team, Sasuke."
The three of them spent the rest of the day planning.
