If y/n could explain the level of pain she was in she would be screaming.
Her vision blurred as she stumbled from tree to tree, grasping for an ounce of support from the stagnant forms around her.
She groaned and grasped her side as she tumbled on leaves and trembled.
"Shit this is getting worse." She cried.
"Hey! Who's out there?!" A voice shouted followed by the turning of a small light in her direction. The light glared into her eyes causing the hand applying pressure to her bleeding side to be thrown in front of her face to shield her eyes. "Hello? Miss? Whats your name?"
Y/n froze in fear. She could never explain to a bunch of cops how a shadowy beast tore open her side after she had drunkenly walked into the woods in attempt to walk away from her increasingly hostile boyfriend.
"Miss, what is your name?" The cop repeated stepping closer to her.
"Y/n..."
"Okay y/n, wanna tell me what you're doing out here? And why you're bleeding?"
"Oh I just got a little lost and I tripped on a big down branch a little ways back, fell against a really tough tree and scraped up my side." Now y/n wasn't the best liar in the world but when she needed a cover story she could pull one out of thin air.
"Seems pretty knarly. Let's get you to the hospital."
She didn't know how to say no without seeming suspicious or crazy so she just nodded in silent agreement and followed the cop to his car.
The cop took his jacket off and wrapped it around the girls weak shoulders after she gripped herself.
"Cold?"
"A little," she admitted. She pulled the jacket around herself tighter and noticed the badge. "You're the sherif?"
"Yeah. Sherif Stilinski. Nice to meet you."
"Thank you. For helping me."
"It's what I do." He nodded and y/n returned a soft smile.

"Watch your head when you get in." He pointed to the low door frame and she did as he instructed.
She winced in pain when she sat down.
"That hurt?" He asked with some look of sympathy on his face.
"Yeah. It doesn't feel very good."
"I imagine it wouldn't. Don't worry, we will get you to the hospital and make sure it's not infected. That's the really dangerous part."
The sherif turned his sirens on to make sure we got their as quick as possible. Once we pulled in the parking lot he escorted me into the hospital.
"Got a girl with a side wound. Bleeding, possible infection."
"Name?" A curly haired nurse asked me as she looked up from her clip board.
"Y/n... y/n l/n."
"Okay y/n let's take a look at that wound and see what we are dealing with."
She gently peeled away the shirt that had started to stick to my cut. I flinched at the separation and she apologised.
"Yeah that's looking mighty painful. Let's get you back into a room and see what we can do." I followed her into a room at the end of the hallway and she asked me the thousand questions you could guess you'd be asked.
"Okay I will have a doctor in shortly to evaluate you."
"Thanks."
The door closed. There was a moment of silence in the room and I was alone. I was starting to panic even though my story stayed consistent. There was no flaw and I didn't show signs of nervousness. The only person I had left to fool was the doctor.
The door opened a moment after and I looked to see who came in.
"Hi. Im Doctor Hale. I'm gonna take a look at that injury you got there." My heart rate picked up and I could feel my face flush. He was hot.
Dude not the time I scolded myself. I needed to focus. I tried to calm myself and focus on the task at hand. The doctor lifted my blood soaked top and pressed around a little bit. I groaned and he looked up at me.
"Painful?"
"Very."
He nodded and stood straight again.
"Okay. We are going to have to give you a few stitches. Not terribly deep but since there are a few cuts and they are pretty long we will just get them closed up for you. I'll also probably give you a small antibiotic as a precaution."
"Okay."
"Im going to have you lay down on your side so your injury is face up."
I laid down turning toward him to put my injury to the air.
"Okay I'm going to administer a small anaesthetic." A small tear leaked from the corner of my eye as the needle was pushed into my side.
"It's okay. I don't like needles either." He joked. "On the bright side it should help the pain go away though."
He set the needle down on a tray.
"Okay it'll just take a minute for the numbing to settle in."
He wiped down the area so he could see clearly and furrowed his brow.
"You said this was a tree?"
"Yeah. I took a tumble and scraped on some branches."
"Hmm. That's interesting because it actually looks like claw marks."
"Does it? That's funny but I assure you this tree was not moving nor did it have claws." I joked. He just nodded not entirely believing me.
"It's just funny because your heartbeat picked up on that one. And I can smell that you're not human so there would be no reason to lie to me." My eyes widened as he looked at me.
"What are you?" I asked
"Werewolf, you?"
"Gonna be honest... I don't know. I came here after my boyfriend found out. It just gave him an actual reason to hurt me. I ran out stumbled into the woods and got attacked by what I think was one of you."
"Why'd you say it was a tree then?"
"You think a stranded girl in the woods is going to tell a random cop that she thinks she got attacked by a werewolf? How do you think that would have ended?"
"I guess not good."
"Yeah."
"Okay. Im going to start the stitches now."
He was gentle with his touch. The wound was numb but I could still feel the pressure on my ribs.
"So are you staying here in Beacon Hills?"
"Maybe. I don't know. I'll either have to go back to my parents and stay with them or find somewhere new to live. I can't go back to my boyfriend now."
"Definitely not. And if you need me to file a police report on him I can."
"No it's alright. I will be okay."
"There. All done. And it didn't even hurt, did it?"
"No." I shook my head and looked down at it. Doctor Hale put some clean bandages over it and seemed proud of his work.
"I am going to go put in an order for that antibiotic but I'll be right back."
It was quiet once again. I could start to feel my clothes grip onto my skin. I picked at the seams of my jeans and sighed aloud looking at the blank white wall.
"Okay that order is put in. We will have you take those and then send you on your way. By the way, if you do end up staying, you should meet my pack."
"Pack?"
"Yeah. Im not the only supernatural creature in beacon hills. We actually seem to attract a lot of it."
"Well then I guess it's no wonder I'm here."
We smiled at each other and I grabbed my phone.
"I guess I should book a hotel for tonight. Just so I can get some sleep and get some stuff sorted out."
"Yeah. I'll leave you to it and be back when the antibiotic is ready. The cafeteria is down the hall to the left and feel free to watch anything on tv."
"Thanks."
"No problem."
I decided that I had earned a sandwich or a bottle of orange juice from my day today so I waddled down to the cafeteria. I quickly grabbed some snacks and hiked back up to my room. I sat down on the bed and turned on the tv. I left it on whatever station it turned on to since I wasn't really interested in what was happening, I just wanted the noise. I nibbled on my sandwich and chugged the juice. I was surprised at how thirsty I was.
It was maybe a half hour later when Doctor hale came back in and gave me the antibiotic to take.
"After this you are good to go. Just take it as recommended and you should be okay." The door opened and Melissa the nurse came in to escort me out.
"Thank you Doctor hale. I appreciate your help."
"Anytime. And hey, the offer still stands to meet the pack I'm in. I know our alpha would love you."
"I'll think about it." I nodded to him.
Melissa ushered me out of the hospital and I got a cab to the hotel I was staying in. It was about a fifteen minute drive from the hospital.
I got the key and walked straight to the room. It was small, about what I expected for the cheap price I paid, but since it was just myself I didn't mind.
I chucked off my shoes and flopped down onto the hard mattress. I felt my body relax and my wound didn't hurt since I had been numbed. I turned onto my back and crawled under the sheets. It reminded me of the hospital. The white crinkly sheets absorbing me into the mattress under me. And when I thought of the hospital I thought of Doctor Hale. To be honest he couldn't have been much older than me. Maybe five or six years? He looked young at least. I felt weird about thinking about him while I tried to lay down to go to sleep but he was a comforting presence to think of. And he offered to let me meet the pack he was in. So it couldn't be that weird to believe we could be friends.
But I didn't have his number nor did I know how to contact him so I put it out of my mind and decided to focus on sleep. Right now, sleep is all I wanted.
