I was very uncomfortable all day. Scott and stiles weren't at school and I havent gotten any texts all day. I walk out of the school and walk into the woods. I made my way to Derek's house.
"Open up buddy. You need to give me a pretty damn good reason on why you haven't been texting me back." I shouted.
The door opened but it was peter.
"Where in the living hell is derek and the rest of the pack?" I asked him angrily.
"They didn't invite you? They are halfway to the grounds."
"Those little" I paused censoring myself.
"I thought you went with them!" Peter spoke growling. "They lied to me."
"They told you I was with them?"
"Yeah."
"Oh I swear to god if they aren't dead imma kill them myself." I said grabbing one of Derek's shirts and then following the scent.
I ran at full speed after about twenty minutes of running I hear a roar like someone was in pain.
Derek.
I ran and ran until I spotted Scott holding a masked man off the ground by his neck.
"Tell me where it is!"
"Never!"
"Then you die!" Scott threw the masked woman, now that I heard her voice, into the wall and her body cracked. I watched it not even remembering that I heard derek roar in pain. I look down and Derek is bleeding out.
"Oh my God." I kneel down and he grabs my wrist. Scott and stiles had ran home. Tired of fighting.
"No. Don't waste it on me." He said, his voice hitching from the convulsions.
"It won't be wasting it if it means saving you." I said putting my other hand on his that was still holding my arm.
He huffed and looked back at the sky. I lifted his shirt and looked at the bullet holes.
In the air I pushed two fingers apart and one of the wounds started opening. Derek only flinched, he was used to much worse pain.
I got all the bullets out and stitched up all the wounds. By the last one my arms were so weak and my body was shaking from pain.
I wasn't as experienced healer, I've only done it a couple times, and on very minor injuries. I huffed and caught my breath as I was done. I laid down next to derek as I heavily breathed.
He turned his head to me, he was still on his back, I was laying on my side facing him. He moved one hand to my face and wiped the sweat soaked hair from my face.
I smiled at his touch.
"Why do you always have to save me? One day I want to save you." He said in a tired, but husky voice.
"Well, I guess since you guys never let me join you, I'll always be out of danger."
He chuckled as he knew I was angry about him lying.
"Then maybe I'll let you go on the next one." He said looking into my eyes.
"Then maybe I'll almost die for you." I giggled.
He leaned over and kissed my sweaty forehead with his soft lips.
"I wish it were that hard to almost die." He said laughing.
"Well we wouldn't want you dying now would we? We have a pack to lead. And god knows I'm not gonna be able to do this myself." He smirked and said "good thing you're here to always protect me."
"Yeah. It is good." I scooted in closer and rested my head on his shoulder as he wrapped an arm around my waist. I sat there for a minute. It was gross kinda, hugging each other in a sweat filled, blood soaked embrace. But we didn't care. He was alive, I was alive, that's all the mattered.
"Thank you." He said.
"For what?" I asked releasing from the hug. He sat up and I did too.
"For always saving you. Even when you're mad that I don't let you come."
"I couldn't live without you. With the group or not, you're what I care about. As long as you're alive, I don't care what my role is." I smiled.
"Wow that got really sappy." He laughed as he looked down at my hands, my engagement ring still sparkling.
"Still got it on you?" He asked.
"How could I not? I want everyone to see it." I smiled as I looked at it.
"I see it everyday." He said.
"Well maybe that's because I just want to remind you that you made it official." I looked at him.
"Will you ever stop being sappy?" He laughed as he raised his eyebrows.
"Never. Not as long as you're alive." I said attacking him with a hug.
"I'm just glad you know how to save a life. My life." He hugged me tighter, burying his head into my neck and wet hair. I knew that inside him, he wanted to hug his fiancé so hard that she always remembers what his embrace feels like. And that's exactly what I was doing back
