Tighnari pov

My eyes blinked open through my heavy eyelids, my bed felt warmer and more comfortable than it ever had before. Light glinted through my window and the curtains laid at the side undrawn. I wanted to press my eyes closed again, wanting to crawl back into the sweet, peaceful escape of sleep. Through my sleepy stupor, I leaned up and reached over to draw the curtains shut. But before I managed to stretch my arm over to the curtain, I heard a light grumbling from behind me. I felt my smile stretch as I remembered who lay next to me. Why the bed was so warm, why it was so comfortable.

I sat up, supporting myself on my elbows, I looked at him behind me. His fluffy white hair shined in the dusty morning light as his arms wrapped tighter around my waist. His eyes blinked open in a way, much like mine had just a few seconds before. His eyes, a brighter red than ever as he looked right up at me. His cheeks reddening with a light blush.

Despite his protests, I leaned up further and drew the curtain closed in one swift motion before adjusting myself back into place. As soon as I was, he buried his head into my neck and hugged me tighter. A few peaceful seconds of silence passed as we lay tranquilly in each other's arms. I felt his warmth encompass me, his arms wrapped around my waist and his light breaths on my neck. We stayed together like this for a few more minutes before he spoke up.

"We need to get out of bed," He said quietly. I groaned in protest. Besides the fact that I was sleepy, considering the time we had gone to sleep last night and how I simply didn't want to leave his embrace. I'd fallen hopelessly in love with the man cuddled up to me for far longer than I'd realised, for far longer than I was able to admit, even to myself. After last night, I realised I finally had him, I realised how much he wanted me just like I wanted him. Maybe he hadn't realised himself. Whatever he felt; I knew all that I needed to know after he kissed me last night.

For now, I didn't care about anything, just that his arms were around me. And just how much I wanted to stay like this.

"Kaveh and Alhaitham invited us for a few rounds of TCG down at the tavern," He mumbled lowly.

"Huh...? You should have told me last night..." I mumbled back, shifting myself so laid on my back instead of my side. Cyno moved as well, he hesitantly shifted himself to hug me as though I were a pillow. His head was still in the crook of my neck. I could only hope he didn't hear my heart beat out of my chest, or notice how my face was mostly like various shades of red and pink. Even though I kissed him quite a few more times since the first one we shared last night, I couldn't hide just how flustered I was.

"I was...distracted..." He murmered. His words only made me more flustered as I thought back to the previous night. We hadn't spent much longer up at the terraces, we had walked back hand in hand and talked the entire way back like we always had. Even after what had just happened. When we got back to my room, we were finally tired enough to fall asleep and almost immediately collapsed into my bed.

"What time did they want to meet us?" I asked, forcing my eyes to stay open.

"Around midday," He replied as groggily as I felt.

"Then we should probably go soon," I said. I didn't know exactly what time it was, but it was likely nearing midday. The sunlight that came through my thin curtains still managed to light up most of the room.

Despite knowing we should have gotten up, we stayed unmoving for a little longer. Just as I was about to fall back asleep, Cyno began shifting next to me. He sat up next to me on the bed, his long hair poking out in various directions. He shifted himself off the bed and stood up. I did the same, pulling the curtain I had closed back open and looking out. The sun stared back high in the middle of the sky.
