Tighnari pov
Blurry colours shifted in darkness like static. Faint shuffles could be heard in the peripheral. Aches pulsed up and down my body, my arms and legs felt unfamiliar, alien, wrong. The worst of the aches blossoming in my head. A painful dryness made itself present in my mouth. The faint shuffles turned into soft steps on a wooden floor. The blurry static of dark and dull colours got brighter and more vibrant. I forced my painfully heavy eyelids open and light flooded my senses like a surging wave. I winced, shutting my eyes quickly as I dragged my heavy and aching arm to hold my eyes closed. The faint shuffling moving around a finite plane moved closer.
I let go of my eyes and slowly blinked them open to adjust to the stinging light, tears welling in the process. As my eyes blinked around the space, I let my heavy arms prop myself up on the only warm, and welcoming thing this place had to offer.
Once I finally made sense of where I was, I realised I was in my room. I also became more aware of how my body ached, how weak and tired I felt. I felt the side of my bed push down like someone was leaning on it, and just as I turned to look, I felt a weirdly warm hand grasp mine.
Looking over I saw him, a sweet expression plastered on his face. A mix of concern and care.
"Are you feeling okay?" he asked with a gentle voice.
"I don't...I don't think so...Wh-what happened?" I croaked in my tired stupor. I heard him laugh a bit as he squeezed my hand.
"You got really drunk last night, remember?" he said.
"What? But I would never drink enough to make myself like this!" I said, trying to piece together what had happened. He started laughing again.
"Both you and Kaveh drank a bit more than you could handle," he said.
I propped myself up straighter and pain shot up my spine swirling into a headache. I winced in pain.
"What's wrong?" He asked, worriedly.
"Just a headache...I'm fine," I said, reaching up to hold my temples.
"Did you not drink?" I finally asked, turning my gaze to him after a short few seconds of silence.
"Not really," He said.
"Why not? Don't you normally?" He tore his eyes away from mine as I said that, looking to the ground.
"I didn't...feel like it," He said hesitantly "That's not important right now. Do you need anything? Water? Something for your headache?"
"I think the water's good enough for now, the headache will pass," I said.
He let go of my hand and stood up off the bed. Walking into my bathroom and reappearing a second later with a tall, clear glass of water. He handed it to me and I took a long sip of refreshing liquid, though it didn't do too much to help my aching. He sat down on the edge of the bed again.
"Thanks," I said, setting the half-empty glass on my bedside table. He gave me a quick glance before picking up my hand and placing a sweet, gentle kiss on my knuckles. I felt a smile stretch across my face as he did so.
"I'm sorry, I want to take care of you for the morning but I have some things I need to attend to," He said "Will you be okay?"
"I'll be fine, don't worry about it," I said, still trying to piece together what happened last night.
He stood up and walked to the front door, slipped on his shoes and glanced back at me.
"I shouldn't be long, a couple of hours at most," He said, reaching for the door handle.
