"It's late, are you going to continue studying?" he asked, bringing me even further back to reality "It's almost nine,"
His last words brought me back completely.
"Nine...? Really?... I guess I must have zoned out studying..." I said, slowly, glancing down at the pocket watch I had failed to check. "I guess I'll head back then, the library will be closing soon...but why are you here so late?"
"I was actually looking for you," He explained, as I began to pile my things to pack away.
"Oh...Thank you..." I said slowly, standing up
"You didn't come to mine, and you weren't in your room...So I figured I'd look for you," He said, quietly, looking down at his feet. And with that, as If I couldn't resist much longer, I pulled him in.
My hand gently wrapped around his wrist, it felt damp, wet almost, and my other hand placed itself on his jaw, guiding his soft lips to mine. This time, he smelled like rain, like deep earth. I indulged in it. As soon as our mouths had connected, his hand intertwined with mine. His rough fingers sliding over my palm. His eyes fluttered closed and he angled his face, as did I.
His free hand found its way to my jaw, deepening our kiss. My hand slipped off his cheek and I placed it at his side, pulling us even closer than before. As our mouths explored each other's, I bit his lip gently, his shoulders tensed and his mouth opened a bit wider.
But he pulled back a moment later, our lips barely parting, just centimetres apart but still too far.
"Too much...?" I said, whispering for no reason in particular, there wasn't a single other person here anyways
"No...We just shouldn't be doing this here," he said, letting his hands fall back to his side.
I let him go, doing the same, but not before giving him one last light kiss and then pulling away completely.
He walked up to where I had been sitting to help me pack up my things. I watched as his beautiful figure glided over the marble swirls on the floor. I walked over to continue packing up my things, he handed me a few closed books and I put them into my book bag swiftly. Once we were done, we made our way over to the exit of the library and left.
We walked through the uncomfortably dim halls quietly, my hand carefully intertwined with his. As we continued walking, I heard a pattering that wasn't there before, maybe it was - but I was too distracted to notice. Or should I call it 'too focused'?
We made it to the end of the glittery Akademiya halls, we rounded the corner to head to the dorms but we both stopped in our tracks, at least I did, Tighnari stopped for a second later.
Staring at the dark downpour, I connected dots in my head that should have already been laid out. From the pattering to his damp hair.
I took a few more strides until we were at the end of the corridor, I could feel the cold mist on my face from pattering rain falling right in front of us. The courtyard was large, the dorm rooms had to be around thirty, maybe even forty metres ahead.
"Ready?" He asked, gripping my hand tighter.
"I guess so," I smiled at him. I held his hand closer to me and we began our dash to his dorm building. Water splashed up our legs from small puddles we ran through and droplets rolled down my back and dripped through my hair, falling on my bag.
As we neared the dorms, just a couple of metres away from the dry shade, I felt Tighnari's hand slip out of mine suddenly. As I skid to a stop under the small roof in front of the dorm, just after his hand slipped away, I turned to look at him.
