PRIDE MONTH SPECIAL (I love you) PT. 1

As a kid, Pin was never really into the thought of relationships. She had her mom, and her mom was all she needed to survive. She loved how hard-working her mom was to feed two mouths and yet was able to work two jobs. Pin wishes to be her one day, motivating her to work for those perfect scores and straight A's. However, the school has recently been boring for her.

Due to her focus on school, she didn't have a lot of friends. She thought that having friends would only give you the trouble of mass amounts of communication and having to be nice to each other. Pin was not up for having awkward small talk and talking to someone about their recent feelings about their friendship. However, she felt that if she decides to stay a loner for a couple more years, she'd be bound for a loveless life disregarding her mother's close family's love for Pin and her intelligence.

"Pin!" Screamed a girl. Pin turns her head to find Leafy beside her in class. She had her hair in a high ponytail and the corner of her eye covered with a star-shaped sticker. Pin huffed angrily. She can't break down her walls yet. Besides, she only met this person two months ago. Pin only hummed in response while the girl sat beside her.

"I can't believe we have English, Math, and Science together!" Leafy said happily while pulling out her English notebook. She flips it to a page filled with drawings and love quotes. Pin didn't understand as to why Leafy was more into love songs than Lo-Fi.

Love was unreasonably difficult to deal with as she heard from her mother. She understood from her mother's perspective why love was hard. Guys her age were mean and would only want her for her body. Pin's mother hates men with a passion. Pin couldn't agree more. But along with a hate for men was a hate for love.

Love was only a hassle to deal with. Once you meet someone, you have the feeling of needing to hang out with them every day and have the same interests in common before one of you guys catch feelings. Then, you're gonna have to confess to them and risk being rejected and having to forget about that future you had with them in your dreams.

"How do you deal with love so...easily?" Asked Pin. Leafy hums questioningly towards Pin. Pin looks at Leafy with a look of confusion.

"It's like you take love so easily. Like it's a careless thing. But it isn't. It hurts people, and to those who get rejected makes their lives miserable." Pin explained to Leafy. The girl across from Pin hums for a minute before responding.

"Well I find love as a way to escape reality. I like the feeling of love because it makes me feel loved and other people. If anything, it's only just the people who decide that your love isn't enough that makes you think twice about the people you're with." Leafy reasons. Pin hums with thought.

That is true. Love is only given to special people to you. 'But what even is considered love and being nice?' Pin wondered. Leafy sees her troubled expression before smiling.

"Love is complicated, but if you decide to just wing it on some situations then trust me, you won't regret it." Leafy whispered before paying attention to the front of the classroom, leaving Pin no option but to concentrate on that last line Leafy told her about for days.

What did Leafy mean? Love can hurt people. Love isn't good for anything but family gatherings. Even then, it isn't very useful when your aunties talk shit about how their child is doing better than you are regardless of how much you're doing to even stay afloat.

Leafy's stupid. All she's setting herself up for is rejection and constant moving on from crushing.

...Or so Pin thought.

Though as time went, Pin couldn't help but think that Leafy's reasoning on loving was right.

Day by day, Pin is caught with a genuine smile when she sees the girl with green hair. Hell, even thinking of their interaction for the day has got her spiraling. She loves it, but at the same time thinks this will get her closer to rejection and avoidance of a really important person to her. She doesn't want to inch towards a hopeless situation.

The outside of the summer air felt amazing on Pin's exposed shoulders.

Currently, Pin was sitting on a park bench with a book in hand while a couple of kids were on the playground playing 'The Floor is Lava'. Pin had an earbud in while listening to some of Donut's Lo-Fi music. She won't lie, Donut's calming music was amazing music material for exam season.

"Hey." Said a familiar voice. Pin looks to her side to see her classmate and neighbor sitting down. Pin looks at the girl and sighs.

"Hello, Leafy." Pin said while looking away. For some reason, Pin felt a certain...feeling in her stomach. Leafy notices this action and tilts her head to the side in confusion.

"What's up? Bad day today?" Leafy asked. Pin takes a glance at the girl and blushes. She never realized how pretty Leafy was.

Her eyes were a deep forest green that matched the roots of her hair. The rest of her hair was a beautiful dark brown color that shimmered bright enough to be glistening. She was wearing a green blouse and a white tank top beneath it. She had a green plaid skirt on and white knee-high socks. She was pretty. Why only now was Pin realizing Leafy's immense beauty? Pin shook her head before huffing.

"Complications in emotions as of right now." Pin responded after a good minute or two of finding the right words. Leafy then looks at Pin with a smile.

"Aww. You don't understand your feelings right now?" Leafy asked as Pin nodded embarrassingly. Leafy giggles at the flustered girl.

"Aww. That's okay! I can help you explore these feelings! Wanna come over to my house and figure this all out?" Leafy offered. Pin looks up at the girl before mustering up a somewhat nice smile. She then nods her head towards Leafy. Leafy smiles back at the girl before being interrupted by the teacher to take out their notebooks. Pin has a feeling arise in her chest.

There it was again. The same feeling she felt while thinking of girls in their class. The same feeling when she thought of what certain girls would look like in bikinis. The same feeling, but was more powerful when it came to Leafy. Was this normal? Will she be known as a pervert if she told Leafy about these feelings?

She should focus on school for now. Besides, she'll be going to Leafy's to sort things out. Hopefully Leafy has experience with these...' feelings'. Leafy is the heart of emotions, specifically love.
