Isn't it incredible how the human body
Grabs hold of emotions?Like sadness,
Sadness is like a wave,
That swallows you whole
And gets trapped in your throat,
Choking you
Just below your Adam's Apple.Anger?
Anger blazes somewhere
Between your heart and your lungs,
Resting like a molten ball of lead
In the base of your chest.Grief ?
Grief is a different monster all together.
When I feel grief,
I feel it everywhere.
My heart aches,
My limbs decay beneath me.
All the energy drains out of me,
And it's as if
All I have left
Is the aching pain of loss.Yet... despite it all, there is joy.
Joy?
You feel it in your cheeks
In the way your smile burns
For being held too long
And the way your face aches
From the laughter spilt.
