April 2015

Roughly half an hour later, you were in Baby, on the way to Iowa where Charlie was waiting for you all in an old hunting cabin of Bobby's. The Impala's boot was loaded with gadgets the Men of Letters used to decipher codes with. As well as lore books and a box Dean had found that was lead lined and warded. He hoped it would hold the Book of the Damned.

Charlie had found the book but some bad people had also found her. A family, from what she had overheard, who shot her in an attempt to take it from her. Presumably, they had managed to trace her all the way from Europe and back to the States, thanks to the book.

Aside from Charlie's predicament, Dean was exceptionally happy. Convinced that the book was the cure you had all been waiting on. "When was the last time you went to the beach sweetheart?" He asked after telling both you and Sam that he planned to have a vacation, the minute he was free of the mark.

"About a week before I was brought here..." You replied from your curled up position on the back seat behind him. Currently using his jacket as a blanket.

Dean's eyes glanced at you through the rearview mirror as they usually did. "Huh... Well I say it's time you went again. We can go swimming! Feel the sand between our toes."

"Can you even swim?" Sam asked his brother sarcastically.

"Course I can swim!" Dean shot back. "All I'm saying is we all deserve a bit of R and R after this is over. Then we can finally work out what's what with her abduction." His thumb pointed at you over his shoulder and then spoke directly to you again. "Just don't plan on going home."

You sat up at that and moved across the seat and into it's middle. "I gave up on that a long time ago. I can't go back even if I wanted to."

"Why not?" Sam asked you curiously.

"Passport for one. My country's just as difficult to get into as yours is and I refuse to get a visa just to go home."

"America wasn't that hard for you to get into." Dean joked.

"No. I just got cut up and dumped on a highway. Easy peasy. Much better than flying economy..." You added sarcastically. "I'd be happy just to get my citizenship back."

Sam turned around to look at you surprised. "What about your family's memories?"

"Yeah. I guess that would be nice too." You agreed. It wasn't that you had forgotten about your family, or your friends. You just found it easier to push them to the back of your mind these days. Especially after your recent conversations with Claire.

Deciding to move things away from those you'd lost, you changed the subject back to vacations and fun. "Have you two ever even been to a beach?"

"Nope." Dean replied with a popping sound on the end.

"What he said." Sam grinned at you.

"Really? I would've thought you had Sam. What do you call it, spring break? Don't all the college kids flock to the closest beach or whatever?"

Sam laughed at you. "Come on Glowworm. You've got to know by now that most of the stuff you've seen in the movies isn't real."

"You forgetting what we currently do for a living?" Dean snickered as he took a glance at his brother. "Most people think the monsters in their movies ain't real."
