The brothers exchange would normally be hilarious to you but you were more confused and focused on Sam's last point. Surely the premise from all those teen movies like the American Pie franchise had come from somewhere. "So spring break isn't a thing?"
"Well, yeah I guess it is. But not everyone participates." Sam explained to you. "Jess and I visited her parents once, and another year we went on a road trip with some friends to Canada. Never to the beach."
You watched Sam's smile change from one that was humorous and playful, to one full of love. Whenever you heard Sam talk about Jess, he spoke fondly of her, but he was never sad. At least he didn't show it, which always impressed you. Of course he missed her, but he never let what happened to her dampen his memories.
A smile appeared on your own face. Trying to convey your appreciation for him sharing the detail with you on top of your sympathies, all in one look.
Sam cleared his throat and then looked between you and Dean. "Have you two talked about what your apple pie life is going to be like? Once the mark is gone and Glowworm's case is sorted?"
"Please... I'm spending all my energy on being the optimist for two people." You joked.
Dean quickly glanced around behind him to smirk at you. "No time like the present then sweetheart."
His casual tone had you surprised and you stuttered through your response. "Seriously? You wanna talk about that now?"
"Why not? You need my brothers approval if you plan on making an honest man out of me." Dean chuckled back at you. While his voice didn't sound serious, you weren't sure how to take what he was suggesting. Did he even realise what he was suggesting?
Sam also seemed to be struggling with his brothers attitude. Looking as dumbfounded as you felt. "Dean, are you sure that's a conversation you're wanting to have right now?"
"Would you two relax." Dead added as he took another glance at you and Sam. "I'm not saying I want to get married straight away, but I'm hoping if I ask you one day, you'll say yes sweetheart... I want the whole apple pie experience. I thought I made that obvious."
"Well yeah, I guess you did. It's just. We just started this... Most guys would be running this early on if a girl brought it up..." Not that you had any experience in the matter. You looked at Sam. "You said you'd planned that with Jess right?"
Sam nodded in agreement. "Yeah. I had been looking at rings and everything."
"And how long had you been with her before you decided you wanted that?" You asked, hopeful that he'd respond with something longer than the time you'd known Dean for.
It wasn't that you didn't like the idea of marrying him one day, you'd already thought about that yourself once. And him suggesting he wanted that with you would normally have you floating on cloud nine. But you were trying yo be realistic and not get too far ahead of yourself. The two of you hadn't even had a quarrel or misunderstanding yet. Besides the time when he had shut you down and you'd wiped the slate clean.
"About two years." Sam answered.
"We've known each other for one and a half." Dean added as he stole another glance at you. "I thought you said you wanted to meet your Mr. Right. Am I not him?"
