Regulus was holding back his tears, wiping any that threatened to fall.
"Reg, what's wrong?" Asked James.
"Just a letter from my parents." Regulus gestured to the piece of parchment in hand.
"I'm so sorry." James reached out and hugged Regulus.
James could hear Regulus sniffling, and wiping his tears before they fell.
"It's okay to cry you know." James informed him.
"How dare you!" Regulus was hit by a 'crucio' spell from his mother.
His mother didn't release the spell, it hurt Regulus so much, but it was more painful to know it was from somebody who was meant to love and care for you.
"I hope this teaches you a lesson." Walburga spat, before walking away.
Regulus clambered into Sirius' room, sobs racking his body.
Sirius jumped up and held Regulus. "It's okay." Sirius lowered himself to Regulus' height. "Look me in the eyes." Regulus did as told, giggling when he saw Sirius making a funny face at him. "Blacks don't cry, okay?"
"Okay." And Regulus hasn't since that day, once let a single drop of water shed.
( 'End of flashback' )
Regulus remained there, still not letting any tears fall. "I can't." He confessed.
"It's okay."
