Bryony's POV"You seem pretty out of it today" Kenney mentioned taking a sip of Gatorade.
I let out a sigh and sat down across from him. He just smiled and tapped his ear waiting for me to speak.
"My best friend we uh..kinda had a fall out. We usually bicker sometimes but things are different now" I pouted.
"If you don't mind me asking what's so different about this time?" He asked leaning forward.
"We made a promise long ago to never let a guy get in between our friendship. Maybe I overreacted" I mumbled bringing my hand to cover my face.
"When we met up I sensed something different about her. I won't lie she looked great and everything but the way she looked at Arthur it wasn't quite right to me"
"How was she off?"
"She looked at him like she knew something I didn't. When we did sit though and talked a bit she did eventually tell me to be careful of him because of some stupid rumor"
Kenny's lip formed in a thin line, brows knitted as if he was thinking about something.
"She started saying that if it turns out to be true I should find my own way and ditch him. That was messed of her to say especially considering I like hi-
I stopped and watched a small taunting grin grow on his face.
"It's fine I'll keep your secret. Though it's no surprise cause he likes you too" he revealed.
"How do you know that?"
"Well it's obvious you both like each other. Not gonna lie it's good seeing him with someone other than Alison. He needed to move on. Not that I think of you as a rebound or anything" he scratched the back of his neck.
"That's cool. I just don't want this to be it."
"How long have you two been friends?"
"....since we was 13" I answered and his mouth dropped open.
"Do you guys fight often?"
"As I said sometimes but it's usually over stupid stuff and we make up. This is different though." I said looking down at my hands.
"Friends since 13 and you really think that bridge could just cut of so easily. Trust me if the friendship really means anything then y'all will be okay" he smiled reaching to place his hand on mine.
I expected to feel uncomfortable and off putting by his touch but I oddly felt comfortable and warm.
That only led me to one conclusion.
"Are you gay?" I asked and he retracted his hand and averted his eyes.
Silence swayed in the air and that's all the answer I needed.
"I like you man and I'm sorry if I sounded insensitive with that question." I said with a small smile, hoping he could sense how sincere my words were.
"It's alright. I guess I give off that kind of vibe. I hope I didn't make you uncomfortable"
The conversation took another direction but I wasn't mad about it. I'm glad I know a bit more about him. In a way I think of him as a friend.
"You didn't make me uncomfortable. To be honest the first time I came in here I didn't think you would be gay at all. Not with that heavy ass chain and turned cap. You gave off a thug kinda vibes" I chuckled and he laughed.
"Cool cool. I wasn't obvious then" he said showing his pearly whites.
Any man that got him would be a lucky guy I'm sure of it. Even with the little I know about him I was sure of this.
