We got out of the car and Killian took out my suitcases which I thanked him for.

Chloe and I walked ahead.

"This is his house well he said he wanted it to be ours someday" she said with small smile.

I felt terrible. I've been so gloomy this entire time because of that stupid bitch.

I held her hand and she looked at me with a genuine smile.

"I want to hear all about it"

We all ate pepperoni pizza after Arthur and I settled our things out in our separate rooms.

"You ready for tonight?" she asked taking a sip of water.

My eyes were strained in the back of his head as he and Arthur smoke whilst drinking beers.

Killian placed his hand on Arthur's shoulder before his eyes flickered to mine and my gaze immediately shifted to Chloe's raised brow.

"Oh shit I totally forgot." I said with my hands covering my face.

"You have something to wear at least?" She asked and I nodded.

"Want to take a drive?" She asked and I got up already ready.

I tugged down my thigh length dress.

After driving out and stopping by Maria's for some dark chocolate and brownies with M&M's. We washed that down with some fruit refreshers.

We were holding hands whilst walking and looking for a clothing store when someone caught my eye. In the distance was Jace, Chloe's uncle.

I was about to call for him when he stuffed a fat envelope in his leather jacket and lowered his head.

He looked around for a little before his eyes settled on me. A look of pure shock appeared on his face causing him to briskly walk away.

My feet carried me to the direction he was walking.

He looked in my direction again and sprinted to the side of a building.

I wanted to run but my dress wasn't conducive to do so. So I just quickened my pace until I caught up but looking at the side of the tall building, my brows knitted.

He was gone.

There was a tall fence but there was no way for him to climb that so quickly.

But most importantly why did he run?
What was in that envelope. It was probably some shady shit. Maybe it's best I don't try to stick my nose into something that I'll possibly regret later.

"Where did you run off to?" Chloe panted grabbing my arm.

"Nothing I just think I saw something" I mumbled.

"Mhmm. I see, Arthur's dick come with side effects don't worry I totally get it. Killian's make me cross eyed and blind for a couple seconds"

Um. I could have gone all my life without knowing that.

I shook my head and walked a little ahead. Looking out into the street a flash of some sort lighted up.

I turned to see Chloe, phone up, a chewy smile on her face.

"I couldn't help myself not with your ass poking out like that." She said taking another one before looking in her phone.

"Thank me later" she said with a side smile tucking her phone in her purse.

My nose turned up, lips curved.

"What?" I asked but she grabbed my arm and walked us into the store close by.
