"Right..." I sighed, getting sad again.
"Is there something else? Do you still like him?"
I looked up, "Yeah...I saw his fiancee kissing him before I left Tenten's house today."
"Oh shit, do you need Oreos?"
"Nah...Well yeah," I nodded.
He got up and dug through the cabinets before throwing a small 6 pack of Oreos at me.
"Thanks."
"You never answered my question."
Do you still like him?
"I don't even know."
"Okay, tell Dr. Ashy Poo your symptoms."
"What?"
"You know, do you cry at night? Do you feel depressed? Do you suddenly feel nostalgic?"
My eyes widened, he hit the nail right on the head.
"Thought so," he nodded, "If he didn't have a fiancee, would you still wanna go out with him?"
I bit my lip...would I?
'You would, now hurry up and answer the boy because the movie started like two minutes ago,' Inner said.
I slowly nodded while he grinned at me, which I found kind of odd considering the situation.
"Alright, let's watch this movie."
"What? You're not gonna comfort me or anything?" I asked sassily.
"Nah, I'll leave that to Carolyn."
I scoffed before turning my eyes to the screen and sipping my now lukewarm tea.
--------------------
"They're fucking stupid. I mean yeah cool you found dinosaur blood in a mosquito. So why the hell do they make vicious carnivores like velociraptors and T-rexes?"
"Because if it was just a movie filled with Brachiosauruses and Triceratopses then it wouldn't have the thrilling action. Also they're humans, they think they can control everything," I said.
"But still, it would've saved so many lives if they'd just-"
The doorbell rung and I looked at Ashton in confusion.
"Did Carolyn not take the spare key?" I asked.
He shrugged, "I'll get it...Stupid sister, I told you I'm the smarter twin."
He opened the door before coughing awkwardly.
"So...it's not Carolyn..."
I raised an eyebrow before looking past him and gasping. He passed by me and bent down to whisper in my ear that he'd be in his room and if I needed him just scream rape. I snickered a little before remembering the guest at the door. I sent Ashton a 'help' look, but he only smirked and ruffled my hair before walking down the hallway and into his room. I scowled when his door closed and met the eyes of my surprise visitor. He was glaring at the path Ashton took before I sighed in annoyance and called out.
"Sasgay?"
"Yeah? I mean...wait what-"
"Nothing. What are you doing here shouldn't you be with...oh I don't know, your fiancee?"
He looked away, "Probably."
I felt a little happiness that he'd chosen me over her but then I remembered that he actually hadn't.
I closed my eyes, "Are you just gonna stand there or are you gonna come in?"
He blushed a little before coming in and shutting the door behind me, sitting opposite to me on the larger couch.
"Repeating the earlier question, why are you here?"
"Do you not want me here?"
I shrugged indifferently, "It just feels wrong to me now that we're... I mean you have a fiancee."
"What? Just because we broke up does that mean we can't be friends?"
Friends.
I swallowed the lump in my throat before shaking my head, "Forget I asked."
He sighed, "I actually came here to see how you're doing. I meant to ask you at Tenten's but you left so..."
"Eh?"
"Well, when everyone was laughing you were kinda crying hard, and not happy tears."
My eyes widened, I didn't think anyone had noticed. Then I remembered he knew me better than anyone...of course he knew better.
I knew I couldn't lie, he'd gotten me.
"I was...I mean I. I'm okay now, yeah..." I trailed off.
"What was bothering you?"
I felt anger towards him then. What gave him the right to ask me that. It was his fault I was like this! The reasonable side of me knew that he didn't know he'd caused this...but goddamn he should at least have an idea. Maybe he didn't know me as well as I thought.
"Don't worry about it," I said through clenched teeth.
He abruptly got up, scaring me. He was glaring down at me.
"Fine, but can I at least ask you something before I leave?"
I glared back, "What?"
"Are you sure about Ashton?"
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?!"
"You two like each other don't you? Don't lie to me!"
I stood up, cursing mentally at the height difference.
"He's gay, he has a goddamn boyfriend! Even if he wasn't, what's it to you?! We broke up so stop being so jealous! Christ he's just a friend!"
He backed up a little, shocked at my outburst before regaining his composure.
"I'm not being jealous..." he pouted.
"You are, you have no right to after you...nevermind. Just leave."
"Hn," he crossed his arms, making no move to leave.
I stepped closer and poked his chest, "Leave."
"No."
"You're acting like a kid. I appreciate you coming by to ask about my well-being, but it's fine now so you can-"
And that's when he bent down and did the last thing I'd ever thought he'd do.
He kissed me.
