Chapter Nineteen: Five measly hours

With that, she walked out of my room and left me to myself.

She was right.

I need to fix this.

I hadn't seen the twins since Saturday morning when they said they had to go to Nagoya for their magazine. They said they'd be back by this afternoon so they could get ready to go for their actual road trip around Japan. They would leave at around two and they'd be gone until next Sunday. Heaven knows how they'll make it since the only thing they know in Japanese is what they learned through anime, which really won't get them anywhere unless they're looking to yell "notice me senpai" to hail a "sugoui doki doki kawaii" cab heading to "dango daijoubu."

I'm sure they'll be fine...

This weekend had been productive though. I got the pictures Sasuke emailed the group and I posted them everywhere I could. Today would be a day dedicated to putting up wanted posters and asking around.

I hadn't even had the chance to apologize to Carolyn.

I wasn't looking forward to go to work today. We were gonna be out of the office all day though, so I guess that's kind of like a field trip.

I put my lanyard on my neck, and grabbed a piece of buttered toast to eat on the way. Locking the door on my way out, I bumped into Shikamaru, who was also heading to work. He laughed before complimenting my choice of breakfast.

I rolled my eyes before walking down the sidewalk with him until he took a different route and bid me goodbye.

"Ah crap," I facepalmed before taking my phone out and dialing Carolyn.

It went straight to voicemail right when I walked into work.

I dialed Ashton, and he picked up on the 4th ring.

"Ghh what is it?" he answered groggily.

I laughed, "Hey now, I thought you and Carolyn were supposed to get up early to take pictures of the sunrise."

"We did and then went to take a nap at the inn we're staying at. What do you want this early in the morning?"

"I wanna tell you to be careful," I turned serious and walked in my office.

"Hmm, how come?"

"I told you about the case we're working on?" I waited before he mumbled a positive response. I put it on speaker and sat down to log into the desktop.

"Well we know the guy that did it, his alias is Ichigo Hara. He's still on the loose somewhere in the country hopefully, I'll send you and Carolyn a picture, so look out for him wherever you go today and this whole week."

"I feel threatened now. Alright, I'll hang up so you can send it and I can continue to dream. See you next week."

"Okay, bye, make sure to tell Carolyn when she wakes up," he hung up and I pulled up the picture of him I'd saved on my phone before sending it to them in a group message.

I locked my phone when the door opened, revealing Neji.

"What's up?"

It was kinda weird for him to come in here, since he was the least close of all my friends.

"We'll meet in the upstairs break room at nine. We'll go over the plan for today with everyone there," he said before checking the time, "It's seven fifty now, be there at least five minutes early, if not more. If everyone gets there early, then we'll be quick with the briefing and we can spend more time looking for the suspect."
