The sun was high in the sky by the time you and Levi had made your way back to the cabin. It had been your home and hideout for a while now. We were on our way to tell our newly formed squad that Hange was waiting to continue Eren's experiments. The squad consisted of members of the 104th training corps: Mikasa, Armin, Sasha, Connie, and Jean. Along with us, their task was to protect Eren and Krista, who had now revealed her name to be Historia. "Tch, damn brats had better cleaned the place spotless." You hear the voice of the man next to me, a dark expression on his face as usual. You smile at his never-changing attitude towards cleanliness. "Surely they have. What with you basically threatening their lives if they hadn't," you say, grinning up at him as he turns to you and glares.

We approach the door, but you see Levi pause just before it opens. You give him a questioning glance but stop when you hear the voices of our squad inside. "Hey, so what do you think the deal is between the Captains?" It was Connie's voice. "They do seem close," Armin replied before you heard him ask Eren what he thought since we had spent the most time together. "Eh?" you hear Eren, his voice masked with confusion, "I thought they were together." You then hear Jean's voice ring through suddenly, "What?! No way someone like Captain [y/n] would settle for him, idiot!" You see Levi's aura begin to darken as you see his back stiffen. "Yeah, Captain [y/n]'s way too good for him..." You're surprised to hear Mikasa's low voice uttered quietly within the Cabin. You hear Jean speak again, "See, even Mikasa is- Oi, Sasha! What do you think you're doing? Put the potato down!" The sound of the Cabin turns into a mix of noise as you now hear Jean argue with Sasha about food... again.

You turn to Levi, who's still paused in the doorway, and you roll your eyes. Give him fifty Titans, and he wouldn't flinch, and yet he's stood still with a murderous aura just from a few words by our subordinates. You grab him by the shoulder, turning him around before abruptly capturing your lips with his. He freezes, still tense with annoyance, but eventually, you feel him softly kiss you back. We pull away after a moment as you see his eyes soften and his body relaxes from the tension it previously held. You give him a teasing smile, "you shouldn't worry yourself over them," you say while brushing his raven hair from his face. The two of you had yet to talk about your relationship, about what it was and what not, but you could tell we silently agreed there wasn't much to clarify. You could see the love that swam in his eyes, the same way it swam through yours, but the world we lived in was cruel. Death constantly threatened to pull us apart, so we silently decided not to say the three words we wanted to say.

"Come on, four eyes is waiting," you say with a grin before opening the door to the shouting of Scouts inside. Levi followed before he stepped next to you, the squad freezing as they realised we were now here. You see Levi walk up to the wooden table, dragging a hand underneath it before his face darkened as he sees the grime left underneath. He turned to the Scouts, who still stood frozen, expressions of fear on their faces. "I'm quite sure I gave you enough time." Eren looks up as he holds a broom, his expression turning into one of regret. You smile at Levi before walking up to him and gently touching his shoulder. "Well, we'll have to discuss your cleaning later, Eren," he looks to you as his face turns into one of question. "Tch, yeah, Hange is itching to get the experiment started," Levi continues, a sour expression still on his face. "R-right," Eren replies before we turn to get ready to leave.

The sun had already set, and we had been at it for hours. You stand by Levi and Hange as we look down to see Eren shouting out in his Titan form before collapsing. You hear the shouts of Mikasa below as Hange yells, "What's wrong, Eren?! Get up! The future of humanity is riding on you! Get up, dammit!" You look down, seeing Eren's withered form. "Wait, Hange, I don't think something's quite right," you say as Levi nods slightly next to you. "Somethings different this time. He's not even 10 meters, and some of his body doesn't have muscle. Plus, Eren's ass is hanging out." You take a closer look and see just that: Eren's head is the only thing embedded in his Titan. "I see that!" Hange replies but continues to shout at the boy below us, "Eren! Can you still move?! Give us a signal or something!" You then see Mikasa jump off her horse below and rush towards Eren, ignoring our orders again.
