Until the End || Levi x Reader Insert Fanfiction

[Two years Later]

You stood in the dark streets of Marley listening as music rose from a distance, your fingers intertwined with Levi's as he had a grim expression on his face. You had been getting letters from Eren this past year, telling you all of the situation in Marley, and now you and the Scouts had arrived due to his hasty proclamation that he was going to initiate his plan this very evening. If it weren't for the efforts of your squad begging we come to Marley to help him, we wouldn't be here. Yelena was already planted amongst the raging crowds of people, to deter and confine the warriors in Marley, namely the Cart and Jaw Titans, trying to hinder their presence in the battle. The Scouts now all stay hidden in the shadows, waiting for the signal to attack. You let out a deep sigh as Levi squeezed your hand gently. How had it all come to this?

But you know.

It had almost been a year since you and your squad visited Marley and with it came the sudden absence of Eren who had abruptly disappeared before you were set to go back to Paradis Island. The letter he sent had been a declaration. The declaration that he of all people, trusted Zeke and that he was going to attack Libero, the city of Marley. You listen as the music dwindles and the faint voice of a man talking in the distance quietens. You suddenly feel the trembling quake of the Earth, faint but there. You then hear the unmistakable roar of a Titan in the distance: Eren. You turn to Levi, a questioning gaze etched on your face. Were we really going to do this? But he meets your eyes with a look of grim actualisation; we had to. You turn to your squad who silently approaches you, releasing Levi's grip and giving each other one more reassuring gaze before he speaks up. "Let's go!"

Your eyes widen at the sight in front of you. The debris caused by Eren's sudden transformation had not only caused the deaths of soldiers and world leaders but also of innocent civilians and children. This was what you had all wanted to refrain from happening: to reduce the amount of casualties caused by this plan. But Eren seemed to take things in his own stride. 'I know this is the enemy, I have mourned so many Scouts and friends they have killed. But if we kill those not directly responsible, isn't that just the reflection of what they have done to us all this time, fearing us for what happened over a century ago?' You shake away your dark thoughts as you retrieve a gun from your waist noticing soldiers pointing theirs your way. The internal conflict would have to wait for later, you were amid the beginnings of war.

You fly through the air, your ODM gear whirring as you kill soldiers who try to kill you and your fellow Scouts, moving too fast for them to track or see. You keep doing so until you see Eren's form protruding from his impaled Titan, facing the War Hammer Titan. You call out to Mikasa who joins your side, whizzing through the air preparing the new weapons that allow you to shoot four Thunder Spears at once. The both of you rise upwards, as you see the War Hammer Titan prepare to strike Eren, and you aim for its knees as Mikasa shoots her spears into its nape. You attach to a distance and you both pull the triggers simultaneously causing a series of massive explosions as the Titan falls. The both of you then turn in the dark sky, landing on Eren's Titan next to his figure.

"You guys actually came."

Eren's eyes look to both of us, his voice reaching the tense air among the distant sound of gunshots and explosions that ascend around us. You frown at him, as Mikasa speaks up, a grim but desperate expression on her face. "Eren, please... Come home." He stares at her unblinkingly, emotions hidden between the blankness of his eyes. You speak now, face harder than Mikasa's as you look at him. "Eren... Do you have any idea what you've done? You killed civilians. You killed children, too. You've done things that can't ever be undone." Mikasa falls to her knees as she looks at the man you know she loves but Eren faces forward at the War Hammer Titan, who you notice is still moving despite thinking that Mikasa's blow should've stopped it fully. Mikasa seems to notice too as her eyes follow our gaze to the Titan.
