1st Person, Vox's POV
My blood boiled as Alastor pulled (Name) away.
"You mustn't get involved with such a pitiful excuse of a 'gentleman'." His words rang in my ears. Only further inducing more rage to flow in my veins, I clenched my fists."We'll see who's the 'pitiful' one when i'm done with you, smiling freak," I grumbled, turning on my heel and heading back towards my table where a friend of mine sat.
"I take it your attempt at charming the ladies didn't work out all too well, judging by your sulking," He laughed, taking a big swig of his liquor.
"Oh, fuck off!" I retorted, slamming my fist down on the table and taking a seat. Only causing him to laugh harder in response.
I shot a glare his way before scanning the room, looking for that prick, Alastor. Once I had eyes on him, I watched as he indulged himself in (Name). Strange, he seemed to take a liking to her, his whole demeanor had changed around her.
'Does this prick actually have feelings?' I scoffed to myself. There's no way that antiquated piece of shit could actually care for anyone but himself. Right?
"Hey, are you even listening?" The question snapped me out of my thoughts.
I groaned, "The fuck do you want now? I'm
not in the mood for your bullshit right now, Vin." Looking back at Alastor and (Name), I noticed they made their way to the dance floor before Vin interrupted again."Ugh give it up, Vox. The beef between you and that creep is ages old, you'll never get back at him, that guy never lets his guard down," Vin scolded me, placing his empty liquor glass down on the table and flagging a waiter down.
"Mhm, yeah well, that creep, took everything from me, ruined my life. I won't stop until I return the favor," I scowled, recalling my.. history with Alastor.
"Yeah? And how do you plan to do that, by glarin' at him from afar?" Vin taunted me, chuckling dryly as the waiter refilled his glass.
I grumbled angrily at his mocking. Not willing to admit that he was right.
"Fuck," I groaned, leaning back in my chair and rubbing the bridge of my nose in ire.
"How am I supposed to get back at that fucker if he has nothing I can use against him?" I spoke to myself.
"Every time I get close to finally getting something on him, that bitch manages to get away," I slammed my palm back on the table, scouring the room for that piece of shit, Alastor.
"Actually.." I smirked, seeing him on the dance floor with (Name) and the way he danced with her. He looked into her eyes with something different, something I had never seen in his eyes before.
Was it affection? Desire? Love? Whatever it was, it made one thing clear.. She is the key.
I watched as they danced in sync together. Staring so deep into each others eyes it was as if they could see each others very souls. Gentle smiles adorning their faces as they held each other with such care, it was almost nauseating to me to see the prick happy.
