WARNING:
Mentions of stalking and slight murder fantasies.

The neon red and blue lights of the police cars, fire truck, and ambulance flashed through the night sky around your house. Police officers and detectives were scattered throughout your yard and inside the now completely destroyed house. Everyone was scouring for evidence that could point to who did this.

While a detective questioned Alastor, you sat on the stairs of your porch soothing Princess, who was freaking out slightly at all the noise around her.

You shushed her lightly. "Don't worry, sweet girl, they're here to help," You said, placing a small peck on her head before looking up at Alastor who was still giving his statement.

"Call me if you get anymore information that could possibly help us. Here's my card," The detective said, handing Alastor a small card which contained her name, number, and the address of the station she worked at.

"Thank you," Alastor peeked at the card. "Detective Hayes."

The female detective nodded in response before walking back to the other detectives and officers in the scene and briefing them about the case.

Alastor let out a sigh, letting his shoulders slouch slightly as he walked over to the stairs to the porch and taking a seat next to you. You looked at him as he took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes, the heavy bags were clear on his bottom eyelids.

You placed a sympathetic hand on his shoulder as he slouched over, giving him a gentle smile as Princess climbed into his lap and laid down.

"Was it that bad?" You tried to lighten the mood with a small, quiet chuckle.

"Ugh, yes," Alastor groaned in annoyance, rolling his eyes and placing his glasses back on the bridge of his nose.

"That balky woman did nothing but interrupt me with questions when I was trying to talk, frivolous business really," Alastor glared in the woman's direction, which went unnoticed to her as she laughed with her coworkers.

You giggled lightly at the sight his annoyance. "Well, Al, it is their job to be inquisitive and intruding," You said in a know-it-all type of tone.

Alastor opened his mouth to reply before the detective walked over and interrupted yet again, much to Alastor's dismay.

"Well ma'am, the area is clear, no suspects are here. Would it be alright if I asked you a few questions?" Detective Hayes explained to you, ignoring Alastor's scowl which was directed at her.

You nodded. "Of course, what do you need to know?"

"Well to start, do you know who could've-" Just then she was interrupted by an officer who handed her what seemed to be an index card.

"Hayes, we found this on the scene."

The detective eyes widened as she read what was on it, causing your heart to sink a bit. Alastor's scowl softened slightly, confusion filled his eyes while his brows remained furrowed. You and Alastor looked at each other, both of you shrugging your shoulders a bit before your attention was snapped back to the detective as she spoke.
