[M/N'S POV] (A little bit about M/n's past)
Hey hey hey!!! Good to be back, wanna know something about me? No? too bad.
When I was a kid, suprisingly I was self reserved and guarded about my life, even though I was young. Other kids would call me weird and would often bully me because of it. Another is that my parents are practically absent almost..throughout my life!
At some point I did meet them when I was still young, but that memory was long long ago and I practically forgot their face. They still provide me money and allowances but they practically abandoned me, I had to take care of myself all on my own. And because of my parents absence, I was cautious about interacting with people and that resulted in my asocialness when I was younger.
Anyways fast forward to when I was in grade 2-3? I met Ashlyn, she was being picked on by a bunch of boys, she looked like she didn't care about it until the boy raised his hand to hit her. I decided to step in and grabbed the boy's hand before it could hit her, I scared them off and asked if she was okay. She just responded with a yeah and walked away.
From that day forward I interacted with her more, whether it be small talks or asking(forcing) her to be partners with me during paint time. It took a long time for her to open up to me but slowly she accepted my presence and we officially became besties.
The first time I visited her house, her parents seemed shock and excited about her having a friend over. They were very nice to me, they brought a snack platter and it tasted really good. Sometimes I could hear a camera but it was probably nothing. From then on her parents treated me like I was their son, it felt nice.
I started to become more and more lively, I acted more like a 'child', more than before. I became much more energetic and happy with others. I started to make more friends too, however they seemed to get nervous whenever Asher was around, I found it strange but I didn't think too much of it..
One day her parents offered to teach me self-defense, I immediately accepted the offer. It was fun learning something new, and although I already knew the basics I wanted to enhance it more. They went easy on me at first and I told them that I can handle it, they hesitated but nodded. My reaction time helped a whole lot, allowing me to dodge and react faster. Even her parents were suprised, they praised me about it and I really like that.
As for Ashlyn, she seemed a bit less enthusiastic about learning self-defense. She did try boxing but only because it helped her perform better in dance class but that's about it. Me being the worried friend I am, I pestered her to try and learn self-defense again. I told her that one day I won't be there to help her and scare against bullies. None worked and so I decided to pull out my wild card..tears!
She eventually gave in and told her parents about it. The faces they made when she told them about it was hilarious, I can vividly remember it!
Alright enough about me, let's get back to the story!
[3rd POV]
Everyone managed to get permission for Ashlyn's parents to teach them.
It took some convincing with Aiden and Ben's parents due to Ben's past with violence, though once her dad explained that self defense can help Ben learn to protect himself and others in a more controlled manner, they were less reluctant.
For Logan, his grandparents had to meet her mom and dad in person first.
And the twins weren't all that complicated, they just went home and the next day said it was okay.
M/n already knows about self defense but still wanted to participate, he didn't exactly need permission since his parents were absent..his other friends didn't have to know though..
