School Bus Graveyard [Yan!Various x M!Reader]

Maverick drank a cup of coffee and sighed, he would be lying if he said he wasn't stressed out. He knows that M/n was suffering related to the phantom situation. After all he is one of the people that interacted with a phantom before.

He didn't think it would get this bad. It was partially his fault for neglecting M/n when he was younger. He noticed signs of him knowing the existence of phantoms-not exactly knowing just aware. But still, he was both fascinated and worried for M/n's well being after that.

He thought that if he disappear from M/n's life, the phantom situation would stop. He's involved in it, heavily. He thought it would be best if he left him on his own. Oh how he wished he could turn back time and change that stupid decision of his.

Now he has to face the consequence of his actions. That being said he has to take care of M/n knowing that what he did made the situation worse and now M/n's going through a lot of things. He knows M/n won't forgive him for leaving him when he was younger. But he wants to try and make up all the time he lost with him.

He checked the time and noticed that it was almost time to wake up M/n for the well, experiment would a bit too strong, so an activity of sort?

He finished his cup of coffee before walking to M/n's room. It was far from the other rooms with other 'patients' in it. It would be better there were no disturbance, Afterall M/n would get suspicious about the ruckus.

The original idea was to make another building for M/n's room. Secured and shut so that he won't escape, but they ran out of time so they had to improvise. They decided to arrange a room in a part of the building where not much people would go. It seemed to work well as he planned.

He was extremely strict on which people should enter the room. Besides him, only M/n's assigned nurse and doctor was allowed in the room. On occasions, guards are allowed to enter for emergencies only. Emergencies means if M/n ever went out of bounds to the point they'll need to restrict him. Thankfully it didn't happen yet, he hopes it doesn't.

He doesn't trust others with M/n's care. He knows how the people in this facility are. Hungry for power and uses other people solely for their little experiments. He's no different, he's not innocent with these actions. But he does not want the people in this facility to treat M/n as if he's some kind of lab rat for them.

Stopping infront of the door that led to M/n's room, he took out his card to scan on the scanner. The light on the door turned green and opened, allowing him to enter. As expected the room looked untouched, he expected this since M/n looked exhausted before.

He went it and the door closed behind him, he walked towards the bed. M/n had a blanket on top, the blanket hugged his curled up figure. He ignored the heavy feeling in his chest and tried waking him up.

"M/n it's time to wake up, we're going somewhere today." His voice called out for him, shaking the boy's body lightly.

It took a few seconds before he started to stir awake, his back was facing him so he couldn't see his face just yet. That is until M/n's turned his head to look at him tiredly. He felt a shiver went down his spine by M/n's state. His face looked drained and tired; eyebags were visible under his eyes; his eyes looked much more dull and empty in a way.

He took note all of the changes and planned on doing a check up on him later. But he needed to focus on the current task they were about to do.

"We'll be going out of the room for this," he took out something from his pocket and attached it to M/n's wrist. "These won't do anything to you, but it is required to put this on."

The boy was uncharacteristically quiet and obedient. Was he happy? A bit, knowing he didn't have to use force on him. Was he concerned? Absolutely, this was very out of character for him.
