Taehyun nods. "What course are you taking?" He asks.
"I'm a Psychology major and Beomgyu's in law. In fact, Beomgyu's the top student in his course. What are you planning to take?" Ryujin asks.
"My guts tell me to go for Chemistry." Taehyun says.
"You sure? That's a difficult course." Beomgyu asks.
"And I don't need your opinion." Taehyun snaps.
Ryujin claps her hands in enjoyment. "I'm starting to really like him here."
"Speaking of which, I don't want to be a burden here, so, until I find a proper place to stay, would it be okay if I stay in the dorms?"
"Please do."
"Stop trying to get rid of him Beomgyu." Ryujin says, rolling her eyes.
"I don't think that'd be a wise decision, Taehyun. You're still on medication and still need treatment according to the doctor. Sir Choi would agree to have you stay here rather than the dorms."
"Mom, how would you know without asking dad?" Beomgyu asks, pissed off.
His mom shushes him. "I'm the one married to him, not you. Anyways, Taehyun, you'll just stay here with us, alright? Everyone here already enjoys your company, including me."
"You're forgetting someone." Beomgyu points at himself, earning another light slap on the shoulder from his mom, a second one from Ryujin.
Taehyun shifts his gaze from Mrs Choi to Beomgyu, who's still glaring at him, his jaw clenched. Taehyun feels a lump in his throat, he's not sure what he should be afraid of. Going to college or staying with Beomgyu? Either way, Beomgyu intimidates him to the core, constantly sending shivers down his spine in fear. He knows the latter despises him for taking away his time to take care of him, but Taehyun didn't ask for it, but the blame was put on him. At this point, he's convinced that the two will never develop a friendship and will remain mere strangers until Taehyun finds a place to stay and when Sir Choi would let him go.
Taehyun sighs in frustration. 'This will be one hell of a ride'
Beomgyu knocks on the door of his dad's office before walking in as he hears a 'come in' from the other side of the door. Seojun looks up to see his son approaching him. Beomgyu doesn't take a seat, instead just stands there with his arms crossed.
"Seems like you're in a hurry?" Seojun asks.
"I'll get straight to the point. Taehyun is enrolling into college starting next week."
Seojun flashes his fatherly smile. "Good for him."
"Please convince mom to have Taehyun stay in the dorms."
"Is this so that you can return to your duties with the shipments?"
"Dad-"
"Nope. Taehyun won't stay in the dorms. He's still ill and needs to be medically treated. He'll live here until he finds a place and when I say so."
"He looks perfectly fine!"
"Beomgyu, I didn't want to tell you this but because you lack of sympathy and seem to hate the boy, I guess you need to hear this. Taehyun, as you know, is a victim of human trafficking. And he's had it worse compares to the other girls we've saved. He's experienced physical, mental and sexual abuse and he's suffering trauma and memory lost. I'm assigning you to him because I thought you two will get along, and I hope you will, I don't want the poor boy to be mistreated and feel unwanted. He's been through enough."
That's the thing about Choi Seojun. Ever since he lost his sister to human trafficking, he has had a soft spot on human trafficking victims ever since and was and will always be against the act.
