Taehyun shouldn't have expected less of the party. Of course, it had to be at another mansion, of course it had to be another luxurious event, what was he thinking, he's with the Mafia now, of course the parties they attend are matched up with their statuses. Taehyun feels so left out, the moment they walked into the mansion, all eyes were on them and each and every one of them went their separate ways, greeting acquaintances, leaving Taehyun still standing at the entrance. He knew it was a bad idea to be here, he didn't fit in, and he doesn't understand what experience would he gain from this.
Taehyun glances over at Beomgyu. He couldn't deny that the latter topples over everyone in the room, he looks like a prince, although he's dressed in a suit and nothing royal.
"Feel left out?" A nasal voice greets him from behind and he finds Yeonjun approaching to his side.
"Do they always attend business parties like this?" Taehyun asks.
"Yup. You'll get used to it."
Taehyun inspects the place until his eyes settle to the dessert table across the room. "Hyung-" Taehyun pulls the end of Yeonjun's sleeves. "Mind accompanying me?"
"To where?"
Taehyun points to the dessert table. "Cupcakes!" Taehyun exclaims as he displays his baby smile, revealing his dimples.
Yeonjun chuckles at the younger's cuteness. "Alright."
Beomgyu and his dad walk over to greet the CEO of the company they're collaborating with. The man was wearing a white suit, and the roots of his hair were white. Beomgyu's dad shakes his hands with the man and Beomgyu bows, showing his respect. Beside the man was a girl; tall with model like features, her cat eyes winged with eyeliner.
"Beomgyu, meet my daughter, Shin Yuna. She's been dying to get to know you." The man says, showing off his daughter with a bright smile.
Yuna holds out her hand but Beomgyu doesn't take it, he puts his hand on his chest and bows, earning a pout from the girl, clearly embarrassed. Beomgyu's dad notices the latter and nudges his side. Beomgyu restrains himself from sighing. He knew what his dad was trying to do and he didn't want to be set up. Only two things matter to Beomgyu in life, his academics and Yeong-won. Beomgyu bows again to the man.
"It is nice to meet you sir, but if you would excuse me, there are guests that I would like to greet."
The man nods. "Of course-" he pats Beomgyu's shoulder. "Do what you must!"
Beomgyu darts his eyes to his dad who was glaring at him. Beomgyu returns the glare with a not so visible smirk and walks away, only to be halted in his steps by a few girls who instantly crowds him.
"Beomgyu! It's such a pleasure to meet you!"
"You're a lot more handsome than what they say."
"Why aren't you returning my phone calls?"
Beomgyu scoffs, for he has never contacted any girl unless for assignment purposes if they were in the same group. Pathetic. Just what he doesn't need right now, to be surrounded by thirsty girls, who would claim him as theirs when clearly, he doesn't belong to anyone. These girls, although already coming from rich and loaded families, are only after his status, at times like these he wished the Royal Family would reveal their prince, so rather than these girls chase for a future Mafia leader, they would go rampant over a prince. But the Royal Family wants to keep the prince's identity a secret until his coronation which is in a few months, aka, a long time.
Beomgyu examines the mansion and finds no sight of Taehyun. An idea rings into his mind as he comes out with an excuse.
"Excuse me, I rather look for a friend of mine than be touched by your filthy hands." Beomgyu gently pushes his way from the girls.
