"Is there anything else you can tell us?" Natsu asked Lahar.

"We can tell you this. There's some being on that island that's alive. I keep my phrasing vague due to the nature of the signal we detected. Human or animal, it was too strange to identify."

"Well, thanks for telling us before we agreed to come along." Gray said sarcastically.

"How do you already know this?" Lucy asked.

"I first discovered the island." Kaylus spoke up. "Sting informed the council, and the other day they did whatever they needed to get the minimum information needed. But I think there's something more than just some 'being' on the island."

"But we haven't been to the island, so we can't trust you, can we?" Sting shot at him. You gave him a look, nothing mean or anything, just something to shut him up. Everyone noticed the tone in Sting's voice.

"I'll be watching from the coast while you proceed with the investigation. Should you need any support or reinforcements, launch the flare." Lahar instructed everyone.

"We understand." Erza nodded.

As you approached the island, you noticed a dark circle of clouds surrounding it. The air got cooler, and possibly got windier.

When you got to the island, the first thing you all noticed were foot prints. Natsu made note of it.

"Maybe people used to live here a long time ago, before the island sunk in the first place." Lucy suggested.

"Sinking I can understand, but why would it pop back up?" Gray asked himself. "It's so weird. But I bet those ruins would be a good place to find out."

"They look all dark and scary like they're haunted!" Lector taunted to scare Frosch.

"Fro thinks it really could be haunted!"

"Stop trying to scare him, Lector! It's not nice!" Lola scolded.

"Aw come on, I'm just having fun!"

"Sting, I don't really like the energy of this place." You spoke out loud.

"I don't either." He admitted. "Just stay by me, okay?"

"I don't like this place either, Sting!" Calista whined, trying to get the same treatment you got from Sting.

Sting rolled his eyes. "You can stay by Kaylus if it's an issue for you." He said flatly, and then whispered to you, "why is she even here?"

"Don't know." You said quickly, and then followed the group as they walked into the island.

Suddenly, Erza stopped and addressed everyone. "Let's all split up and meet up at the ruins later on. We can enter together from there."

You all understood, and went separate ways. Fairy Tail went off in a different direction, while you, Sting, Rogue, Kaylus and Calista went another.

It didn't take too long before the ground started shaking. A dust cloud covered the sky, originating from the ruins. Because of the ground being so unsteady, you almost fell, but Kaylus, who was behind you, grabbed your shoulder to hold you steady.

"The ruins! There's our target!" Sting shouted, pointing to a serpent that seemed to have emerged from no where. "Let's go!"

You all started to run towards it, meeting up with Fairy Tail at the ruins.

"The council couldn't distinguish this from a human!?" Lucy shouted, obviously freaked out.

"They must be idiots!" Gray seemed frustrated.
