TRIGGER WARNING: Electro tries to take his life (he fails though)
(Takes place 2023)
*February 2023*
Electrodynamix POV
"Hey Deadlocked!" I cried when I saw my calm, sensible best friend standing near the leisure centre. He was so much different from me, since I was far-fetched in my dreams while he was more realistic.
"Hey." Deadlocked said, not sounding that enthusiastic to see me. He was becoming less and less fun. Maybe because of the whole "TOE 2's terrible 2022" affair.
"So, any plans for the weekend?" I asked.
"I'm gonna do some extreme sports." Deadlocked said in the same tone.
"Extreme sports? Can I come with you?" I asked. I had always wanted to do extreme sports, but my parents never let me. However, with Deadlocked I had done all sorts of activities that my parents wouldn't allow. And he had almost always invited me.
"Not this time." said Deadlocked. "I'm going with Clubstep."
I felt betrayed. Deadlocked had always been my closest friend. We trusted each other more than any two levels. And now he had betrayed me for Clubstep? The level that bullied every other official level?
What had I done to lose Deadlocked's respect?
Maybe I had stolen Cataclysm's spinal cord. I knew she was immortal, that was why I did not care. And both Deadlocked and Cataclysm were demons.
I walked off in silence and dejection. I knew this was what I had done to make Deadlocked mad. I would never steal a spinal cord again, whether the owner be immortal or not.
Luckily I had more friends to support me - my band, Gavrilo Princip. xStep and Clutterfunk especially. Electroman was often ill and could not join us.
*March 2023*
I quickly went to Clutterfunk's house, where we often met. xStep was already there.
"Hey." said Clutterfunk. "You seem off."
"Deadlocked abandoned me." I replied.
"I'm sorry." Clutterfunk replied, even though it was not her fault. "I'm here for you."
"Me too." added xStep. Usually siblings fought, but my brother supported me in times of need.
How lucky I was to have those two.
But I could have not been more wrong. One day, I was out to meet xStep and Clutterfunk. I had invited them over. Electroman would maybe come along too.
Thirty minutes. No friends. One hour. Still no friends. Two hours. Still no -
Suddenly I saw the trainee level, Dash, walking towards me. He was a good friend of Electroman's - maybe he would know my friends' whereabouts?
"Hey Dash." I called. "Do you know where xStep, Clutterfunk and Electroman are?"
"They've been detained by RobTop." Dash told me. "No idea why."
Detained by RobTop. Those three were detained by RobTop a lot. They hated it. I hated it too, since I was the lucky one, but unlucky in the sense that I couldn't hang out with them.
Disappointed, I walked down the road home. Why were my friends unavailable? Why did RobTop keep detaining them? Why not me?
The next day, I saw the three again, frowns on their faces. Why the terrible reaction to seeing me?
"Hello." I said innocently. "Did you have a nice day yesterday?"
"No." Clutterfunk replied. "We were detained. Because of YOU."
"Me? How -"
"You do realise that every time we are detained, you have to bear the punishment?" xStep explained.
"But I didn't do anything -"
"You got hit by a car." Clutterfunk said.
"I - It wasn't my fault!" I pointed out.
"Well you made RobTop blame us for it, since we were with you at the time." xStep told me. "And now we get detention at random times for a year."
"You should see Deadlocked." I sighed. "He got detention for calling me, Jumper and Electroman illegal aliens. Which we're not."
"Deadlocked sucks." Clutterfunk said.
*May 2023*
At least I had Hexagon Force. She was my girlfriend, my rock, my peace. She never lost hope in me. She was the one that truly cared about me. I wanted to turn 18 so I could marry her, and live with her happily ever after...
Unfortunately, one thing stopped me from being with Hexa as much as I wanted to.
She had this condition which made her whole body be in pain for at least 36 hours. It happened spontaneously, and we could never predict when she would be in pain. She had had it when we had started dating, but I had hoped that she would have been cured by now. I was wrong.
One day, Hexa's younger sibling phoned me to tell me that Hexa was "ill" again. Unfortunately, whenever Hexa got ill I fell into despair, overthinking things as well, that she would never get better, that she would die if she had the condition for another year. That my other friends would never be my friends again.
Reluctantly, I got out of the house and walked to school. I was going to be late - since I had wasted too much time overthinking things. It was 8:32, and school started at 8:30. I used triple-speed, but it wouldn't really save me from being late.
On the road to school, I ran into Time Machine. Little did I know that this would be our last normal interaction.
"Hey, Electro." he said normally. "How are you?"
"Please hurt me. Lightly. I want to be like Hexa." I told him.
"Fine." Time Machine shot a time wave at me. It hit me on the right side of my chest, and I fell to the floor, my hand over the painful spot.
Then I decided to go home, since I was in pain and despair. Ignoring the pain, I ran home.
However, on the way home, I remembered another friend I had - Aftermath. True, she was sixteen years older than me, but we had been close. Very close. Until her disappearance when I was three.
My mother opened the door. Another final interaction before my life changed forever.
"Hey. How are you? What's wrong?" she took me in using a comforting tone.
"Can I stay at home today?" I said rather sadly.
"Sure."
"Can I ask you... about..." I was too worried about what I'd hear.
"Go on."
"Aftermath?" I blurted out as quickly as possible to get it over and done with.
"Electro, I'm sorry, but Aftermath is dead."
"Can we Science Club at least extract her DNA so that Theory can clone her?" I suggested. It was a crazy idea, but I needed a friend to save my life.
"She was cremated." my mother hung her head.
"Alright." I hung my head too, for a second time.
"By the way, thanks for reminding me that she left you a gift before she was kidnapped by the demons." my mother told me. "Let me go and get it."
After a few minutes, she came back with a glowing orb. I vould not tell if it was blue or orange.
"It's a Thermocore." she said, handing it to me. "You use it to teleport to the Celestial or Infernal region. Normally, minors are not supposed to use it."
I just grabbed it and ran to my bedroom. I needed to try it out. I did not believe the Aftermath story.
I found myself in GDAfterDark, where the demons lived. Maybe they knew something about Aftermath?
Suddenly, I saw an inhabitant coming towards me. I recognised her immediately - and she was someone who I was not on good terms with. Lots of people knew her since 18000 years ago, but she looked around a year older than me.
It was Cataclysm.
Then I remembered that Cataclysm never found out that I was the level who had stolen her spinal cord, so I pretended not to know her, and asked, "Excuse me, do you know where Aftermath is?"
"She is in an urn at the Infernal burial place." Cataclysm told me. "I can take you there if you want."
However, when we reached the Infernal burial place, we were met by two other demons, both female. "Are they extremes?" I asked Cataclysm.
"No." Cataclysm replied. She pointed to the demon with short, messy hair. "This is Nine Circles. She is a hard demon." Then she pointed to the other demon - a beautiful girl with long, beautiful straight brick red hair. "This is DeCode."
"What do you want?" DeCode snapped. "Electrodynamix?"
"Yes." I said. "I need Aftermath's urn."
"Then need it."
This rudeness enraged me, so I slapped DeCode on the face.
"HEY!" she shouted. "What are you doing?" She lunged at me, so I quickly thought of shooting an electric shockwave at her to cause her great pain and suffer. As it flew out of my hand, my head was clouded with a vision. The shockwave was not directed at DeCode, but at Hexagon Force, whose scream echoed in my head for a few seconds. After I had stopped shooting the wave, I realised that DeCode was unharmed.
"How is this possible?" I asked.
"Well, you did not hit me." DeCode said.
