The species explained in the following chapters are considered 'modern' by OSL's standards - that means they're anything that came after Charles's ascension to the universe's throne. In other words, any species outside of the progenitors discussed in previous sections.
Coming in many shapes and sizes, these modern species are from planets made by King Charles although he did not consciously design the people, their traits, or their cultures. Those things are products of magic and time.
