These winter-loving folk are among the most relevant OSL species. The Xavierras family, for example, are among them. But while Frostylians may be well-known, they are not new on the scene. Their world is one of the universe's oldest.

After the fall of the early universe, Frostylia was one of the first planets Charles created. Shrouded in eternal winter, this world's aesthetic more closely embodies holidays, December, and beautiful snowfall rather than an icy wasteland or a bitter January. Culture mirrors this - Frostylians are a friendly species who enjoy visitors to their planet so long as respect is shown. They nestle in cute, cozy homes, some of which are akin to log cabins. Family values thrive and elders are typically held in high regard on Frostylia. Usually, this culture is wholesome and makes for healthy living however it can give way to narcissism such as that seen in Willow.

Similar to such traditions of respect, Frostylian culture shows adoration of mages. They are one of several worlds which uphold a system of Noble Mages: powerful, political sorcerers that are implied to rank just beneath the planet's deity. Magic is typically looked upon with appreciation by these snow-frolickers and is favored over technology. Common appliances such as refrigerators and vacuum cleaners are present but Frostylia does not utilize particularly advanced tech.

Of course, not all Frostylians adhere to such norms. Some despise the mystical arts and there are plenty of mundanes among them. With that said, Frostylia's contributions to the arcane cannot be understated - after all, Violet Xavierras (the most skilled mage in OSL) belongs to this species.

Deity

Many visitors are shocked to find that Frostylia's goddess, Reverie, contrasts the world's welcoming atmosphere. She bears snowy-owl wings and is not Frostylian herself, which could be why she is so distant from her people. Reverie hides herself in a palace amidst mountain ranges, the only biome of Frostylia to reach a truly devastating cold. She does not interact much with the commoners and is even aggressive (as she was with Vivian Xavierras), however she governs the world well behind closed doors. She is known to employ personal assassins to keep crime at bay. When she was killed, Frostylia fell into disarray almost immediately and before announcement - proof of her indispensable reign.

Biology

Matching the planet's environment and history, Frostylian anatomy is quite winter-oriented. Outwardly, they're most recognized for their pale features. The skin of this species serves as wonderful camouflage against the snow and ranges from ashen beige to paper-white. Some of them resemble porcelain. In most cases, Frostylians have equally light hair. It is not uncommon for it to present itself in unnatural hues - lavenders, pinks, and mints to name a mere few. Dark-haired Frostylians such as Ace and Violet are rarely born but considered especially beautiful.

Limited plant life is available for consumption on such a chilly planet, and even less of it tastes good. Thus, Frostylians prefer a more carnivorous diet. Some of them even have small fangs, but this trait is either fading in or out as it's not especially frequent. Hearty, meaty dishes are a favorite among Frostylians as well as fish. This species' cold-resistant flesh and nerves allow them to withstand otherwise frigid climates. In turn, many of them dislike warm weather and they burn easily in harsh, direct sunlight.

Frostylia has not been revisited in the most recent novels, and its current state is unknown. Whether it was deemed an honest or dishonest world by Violet is not clear, and if it remains at all during Celeste's reign is yet to be seen. It is a hardy planet, though, so perhaps it abides despite the universe's wreckage by, ironically, Frostylian hands.
