Harper POV:
After Peter leaves with Happy, Pepper leads me to the elevator. "You doing ok? Anything hurt?" She asks, her high heels clinking on the floor.
"I just have a headache. I'm sore and tired, but otherwise I'm ok... Do you work for Stark?"
"I'm his girlfriend," she smiles, "I also run Stark Industries"
We get in the elevator, "oh. That's cool." I say. "Did you know about me before today?"
"What to you mean?" She asks, looking at me.
"I know Mr. Stark's been texting me, and the other Avengers." I shift Ivy in my arms.
"Yeah, he talks about you a lot" she smiles.
I nod, "I wish they added you to the group" I admit as we reach our floor
"Hm? Why's that?" Asks Pepper.
"You're cool," I say
She laughs, "well, thank you" she walks out of the elevator. I follow her down the hallway, "there's a bathroom connected to your room," she opens a door to a bedroom, turning on the light. I go in. It has a queen sized bed, a nightstand, and wardrobe. The walls were white, and the sheets on the bed were gray. "Call for JARVIS if you need anything, alright? He's our AI. JARVIS, say hi."
"Hello, Miss. Portman," says voice from the direction of the ceiling.
"Get some sleep, it's late." Says Pepper
I nod, "I will... thank you"
"Of course," she nods, "you'll be ok?"
I nod.
She smiles and leaves.
I shut the door with a soft click, setting Ivy down. She purrs and rolls down on the plush carpet. I smile softly as she rolls on her back. I rub her tummy before straightening to set my duffel bag on the wardrobe. I unzip it and get ready for bed.
I lay down in bed, Ivy cuddled up next to me. I sigh, realizing I forgot to turn off the light. Then I remember- "hey, JARVIS?"
"Yes, Miss. Portman?" Says JARVIS.
"Um... Are you able to turn off the lights?" I ask.
"Yes, would you like them off?" It- he- whatever- asks.
"Yes, please," I say. The lights dim. I sigh, closing my eyes. "Thanks."
"Of course. Sweet dreams, Miss. Portman."
The next day ((it's now the weekend, Harper doesn't have school today or tomorrow))
I yawn, stirring in my bed. I rub my eyes with a sigh. Ivy makes biscuits on my shirt, "hey, don't," I mutter, opening my eyes and moving her little paws away. She then attacks my hand. I laugh softly, and sit up.
When I look around the room, I remember last night's events. I gets sick feeling in my stomach. I grab my phone, and read the time, 9:13. Jeez, I must've been tired. I get up, and get ready for the day.
I got dressed in leggings and a loose t-shirt, letting my hair stay down after I brushed it. As I do other stuff, I text Peter.
Peter: Hey
Me: Hi
Peter: Wanna talk about what happened?
Me: Not really
Me: Sorry. I will later
Peter: Ok, just know I'm here for you.
Me: Thanks.
I pocket my phone, and I hesitate by the door. Should I go down? What floor were the Avengers on? There's 93 floors in this building! What if they were gone on a mission? I take a deep breath and open the door. I shut the door after me so Ivy can't run lose. I walk down the hall, towards the elevator. Once I step into the elevator, I don't press a button. "Um.. JARVIS?" I ask.
"Yes?" Comes his voice.
"Where are the Avengers?" I ask.
"Ms. Romanoff, Ms. Maximoff, Mr. Maximoff, Mr. Barnes, and Mr. Vision is in the kitchen," says JARVIS.
((Yeah, I know JARVIS and vision are the same, but pretend they aren't for the story))
"Oh... What floor is that?" I ask. When he gives me the floor, I hit the button on the elevator.
