"Yeah, I'm going to be there in half an hour." I said. I was driving to my parents place for the weekend and was currently talking to my mom on the phone.

"Ok. We need to get going as soon as you get here. I have a meeting at 2:30."

"Yup. And we're having dinner with dad tonight right?"

"Yes." I heard her shuffling around some papers and knew that I lost her attention.

"Well, I'll see you soon mom."

"Yup." I rolled my eyes and laughed. For the rest of the drive I was talking to my editor for my short story. (Yes I get my own editor and yes I love it.) We made plans for her to come to my place to sort out some stuff. When I pulled into my parents drive way it was 11am. I got out of the car and walked up to the front door but didn't get to knock because my mom called me from inside her car. "I've been waiting for you in the car for 15 minutes Hailey." She said to me once I got in.

"Well why would you do that?"

"Please don't give me any sass today Hailey, I've been so busy with work."

"Sorry."

"It's fine. I thought that today we would go to the mall and I can get you some stuff."

"I never say no to free clothes."

"What do you think about this one?" I asked showing my mom my finger. We were in a jewelry store and I was trying on rings.

"I don't like that cut on you. I think princess cut would look better."

"I like the round cut." I smiled to myself.

"When is Calum gonna propose to you?"

"What?" I was snapped out of my thoughts. "Why do you ask that?"

"I don't know. You guys have been dating for a while. It was just a silly question. I'm sure he's not thinking anything of that nature yet."

"Yeah. You scared me. I thought he asked you guys or something."

"Honey, no one does that anymore." Her phone started ringing in her purse making her roll her eyes. "Hello?" She smiled at me then walked out of the store. I took the ring off my finger and gave it back to the lady behind the desk. I picked up my bags off the floor and followed my mom round the mall while she was on the phone. My phone dinged in my back pocket.

'Hey baby. How's your day going?'

It was Cal. He was in the studio all day today.

'It's good. Mom bought me like a whole new wardrobe and now I'm following her around the mall and then off to wait for while she is in a meeting and then to dinner tonight.'

He texted back a minute later.

'Are you going to tell them?'

My stomach turned at the thought of that.

'Yeah. If not now then when. Might as well bite the bullet.'

"Hailey, we need to go now." I looked up from my phone.

"Okay, Can we grab some food for me so I can eat while you're in your meeting?"

"Yeah sure." She took some bags from me and we walked side by side to the car.
