I grabbed my phone that was buzzing uncontrollably off the counter and opened it up seeing 7 texts from my (only) friend from back home. They basically said that I had to go out with her tonight or else she would be mad at me. I texted her back and told her that I had someone with me and I was going to bring him.

"Hey, Cal." I said putting my phone down. He and my dad were watching soccer (football?) on the tv.

"Yeah?" He asked not taking his eyes off the screen.

"Get dressed. We're going out with some of my friends."

"I thought you don't have friends." He said looking over at me and smiling.

"Ha ha very funny, I have one good friend and she happens to have friends..."

"Oh god." My dad said. "You're going to hate Layla, Calum."

"Dad!"

"Why? What's she like?" Calum asked.

"Well for starters, she's a teenage girl. But she's doesn't have a filter and her mind goes 500 miles per hour." Calum laughed probably thinking dad was joking but, no he wasn't; Layla goes on tangents every 3 seconds about totally random things but, she's funny so I like her.

"Well, we're going out with them. They invited us to a movie tonight so I told her we would go with them."

"Ok. I'll go get changed." Calum got up off the sofa, he was still in his bathing suit from being on the beach earlier. I followed Calum up the stairs. "So..." Calum Said once we were out of hearing range. "Since I confessed my love for you and all, do I get to hold your hand during the movie?" I blushed and crossed my arms.

"If you're lucky." He smirked at me and then nodded his head.

"Fair enough." He shut the door to his room leaving me to be all alone in the hallway. I smiled at the ground and walked to my room getting a shirt and jeans out of my bag and quickly changing into them. I turned at the sound of knocking at my door.

"It's open." I said sliding my flip flops on my feet. I looked up to see Anna standing in my doorway. "What do you want?"

"Why would you tell mom and dad about me?" She snapped. I rolled my eyes and grabbed my purse off my bed.

"Because you don't deserve to get away with being a bad child."

"Well I'm grounded for a month."

"Good." I walked past her and out my door making her scoff. I knocked on Calum's door. "Ready to go?" He nodded his head and smiled until he saw Anna standing behind me.

"Hi Anna." He said shyly.

"Why do you hang out with his bitch?" She said.

"Ok, well see you later." He put his hand on my back and nudged me forward.

"Ok, we'll be back before 9..." I said to my dad who was still watching the game. "It would be awesome if you left us some dinner?"

"Yeah ok." He said waving us off.

"Sorry about your sister." Calum said once we were in my car.

"I'm the one who should be sorry. I have never seen her like this before. My parents said she's been bad all year."

"Bad how?"

"Like sneaking out and coming home high or drunk."

"Well one of you had to be a normal teenager." He joked. "But really, I'm sorry. It's not fair to you."
