(Y/n)’s POV
There have been so many times that Ninjago City has been brought to ruin by a villain that has some deep rooted grudge against my family. Whether it be my grandfather, my father, my uncle, or even Lloyd and I.
It's annoying when the past comes back to bite us, but it's even more annoying when we only find out at the last second.
“Ugh!” I groan, pulling on my hair slightly before turning to Nya, “Why does this keep happening to us? I know we said we needed someone to fight, but I didn't think we'd be jinxed this much!”
“Exactly!” Nya exclaims, “She literally woke up and chose violence!”
“And who is the Treacherous Deceiver that she talks about?” Zane questions.
“Uh, isn't it obvious?” Jay asks, “Who's, like, super, super, super old, and is treacherous enough to befriend a snake, and then betray her?”
“Garmadon!” The others, except Lloyd and I, exclaim.
“Uncle Wu.” Lloyd and I correct.
“Wu?!” Morro questions, “Why would Wu befriend and betray a Serpentine?”
“I don't know, why would he?” I say, “That would be a super hypocritical thing for him to judge us on!”
“Hey, calm down.” Lloyd states, placing a hand on my shoulder.
“No!” I argue, shoving Lloyd's arm off, “Not this time! This is Wu's mess! And thanks to him, Kai's powers are gone, we almost died, and Ninjago City is being attacked…again!”
“Uh, is there something you're not telling us?” Seliel asks from the comms.
Lloyd sighs, “(Y/n) and I…the dream we had…it was about Aspheera and what caused her to get trapped in that pyramid. Our father isn't the Treacherous Deceiver. Uncle Wu is.”
“What!?” Kai exclaims angrily.
“Our father, surprisingly, was actually the one who tried to stop him.” I tell the others, “But, Uncle Wu thought he and Aspheera could be friends, and decided to teach her Spinjitzu.”
“Annnd it blew up in his face.” Lloyd finishes, “Instead of using Spinjitzu for good, Aspheera took over the throne and tried to get the Serpentine to rule over humanity.”
“Woah.” Cole states with disbelief, “Who would've thought.”
“Not me, that's for sure.” I snap, “I swear, when I-”
“Okay, chill out.” Morro says as he grabs my hand, “Sensei definitely owes us an explanation. But let's fight fire snakes now and be mad at him later.”
“...Fine.” I reluctantly agree, knowing that there is a bigger problem at hand.
“Hey, Pix, how's Ninjago City holding up?” Nya asks.
“I'm sending you the feed now.” Pixal responds before our screen switches to the news.
“Today's news, tomorrow's history, I'm Dan Vaapit, and this is Ninjago City News. Chaos. Fireballs! Serpents! Our city is under attack...again.” The opening news reporter says, “We're going live to our number one reporter, Fred Finely, to bring you this breaking story. Fred?”
‘Fred? Who's Fred? What happened to Gale?’
‘Maybe Fred got a promotion.’
‘Poor Gale.’
“Fred Finely here, five-time award winning reporter in downtown Ninjago City to report an inclement weather pattern: Fireballs falling from the sky. And these aren't ordinary fireballs. These flaming spheres transform into fire snakes.” Fred explains.
