But that little voice inside her said otherwise.
She had done this for the money but she had also done it to be close to him in whatever capacity she could be.
She had done this to see him get married to someone else so that she could let go of the last hope inside her, the hope that her heart still held on to, the hope that he loved her.But that was just wishful thinking, Armaan Poddar doesn't love anyone but his chitwali.
She had given too much of her time to someone who didn't deserve it.
But you love him, her heart whispered.
And sometimes love isn't enough, her brain answered.
Yes, love wasn't enough.
Not anymore. She remembered her mumma's words, her golden advice,
" Betu, Jin rishton mein pyaar nahi hota but trust and respect hoti hai, unmein pyaar with time aa jata hai but jahaan trust and respect nahi hota wahaan pyaar bhi dheere dheere mar jaata hai."As she remembered her mumma's advice, she bitterly chuckled and thought to herself,
yahaan toh na pyaar hai aur naa hi trust yaan respect, so why am I still here again? Jo bhi tha ab khatam ho gaya, Abhira. It's time to move on.With that she wiped her tears, because she knew no one was going to do it for her and started getting up.
The decision to move on wasn't immediate, it had been building up slowly everyday.
The pain that she felt was getting too much to bear and it would increase everytime she saw Armaan and Ruhi together.
The fact that he couldn't see how his words and actions were hurting her, was the cherry on top.But that had also helped her in a way.
She was slowly learning to let him go and
being near him while he subjected her to his harsh treatment, had made it quite easy to do so.He would hurt her and while the pain would increase every time, her anger was increasing too.
And that anger was what was allowing her to leave him today. This didn't mean that she hated him.
She didn't know even how to.
Somehow even after everything that he had done she still couldn't muster up the courage to say that she hated him.
Saying that she hated him would've been a lie and Abhira Sharma had always been honest. She still loved him.
But she was learning to love herself more than she loved him.
After all if nobody in the world loved her then she would do it herself. She didn't think that leaving Udaipur would magically cure her problems but it would give her some peace and much needed distance from everything Armaan related, which was what she needed right now and that was what she was going to do.
She was her mumma's daughter after all.
She was Abhira Akshara Sharma.
And she knew how to turn her pains into her strengths and that was what she was going to do, she would pick up every single broken piece of her heart and put it back together.
She would heal herself.
With these thoughts in her mind, she started to leave when her phone rang.
