Mussoorie

The sky was still dark when Abhira, who was sleeping on her side, stirred on her bed.

Her mumma's picture still clutched close to her chest and the dupatta wrapped around her.

She sighed to herself before finally opening her eyes but she didn't get out of the bed and instead just laid there, lost in thoughts.

She still had quite a long while before she had to reach the train station so there was no point in getting ready right now.

She felt rejuvenated even though she hadn't slept for anymore than 5 hours.

Her sleep last night, while short had been more relaxing and fulfilling than it had been in the last month.

She hadn't woken up even once throughout and she hadn't gotten a nightmare which was something she was incredibly grateful for.

She hadn't been sleeping properly since their divorce discussions had started and last night was the first time she had an uninterrupted sleep no matter how short.

She knew that she was probably just too exhausted both emotionally and physically yesterday but she still preferred to see this as a sign that she would get better soon or atleast she hoped it was.

Who knew that crying makes you sleep better?she wondered

She was glad that she had cried her heart out last night.

She felt lighter.
She needed this.

She had needed to cry, she had been suppressing her emotions for far too long and now that she had finally let it out, she felt a little free and a little less depressed.

Did this mean that she was all okay?
No, no it didn't but it did fell better to know that she had slept through the night and hadn't woken up screaming or in tears from her nightmares.

What nightmares you may ask?
Well they ranged from anything to everything that had happened in the last 11 months.

Starting right from when Yuvraj had initially kidnapped her which was subsequently followed by her mumma's death and then her deal wedding.

Sometimes it was her initial entry in the Poddar house and dadisaa and Sanjay Bansal's harsh words and sometimes it was her muh dikhayi fiasco.

Armaan and the family blaming her for Rohit's disappearance and their reaction to Charu's affair was quite a frequent one.

Oh and the worst of all, the one that most usually came to her was when the family had found out about the deal which usually also included everything that happened from then on, the disrespect, the deal with Kaveri Poddar, Armaan's anger at her false testimony, the divorce, Ruhi-Armaan's wedding announcement and the functions that followed.

That one left her numb for hours.

The bachelor's party was still quite fresh in her mind. It was also the nightmare that she hated the most.

Sometimes, in her dream Armaan would never show up, leaving her to the mercy of those men and sometimes Yuvraj's face would replace the faces of the party guests.

This one didn't just bother her at night but also during the day, she had consciously or subconsciously started avoiding crowds and sometimes even casual touches made her uncomfortable and panicky.
