Surprise! Surprise!
Guess who's here!

Delhi

She was here.

The city that she had always dreamed of living in, she was finally here.

It was quite hard for her to believe that this was actually happening.

She quickly got her luggage and then got off the train and then used her phone to call an Uber which was thankfully only two minutes away.

It was already 8:30pm but her hostel which was in Defence colony was only 10 minutes away by car so she hoped that it would be okay.

She was soon in the backseat of the cab, looking outside the window with wide eyes.

It was her first time here.

The vibes of Delhi were so different from Mussoorie and Udaipur, the two cities that had been her home.

Bustling cars, people on the streets, traffic and the beautiful markets that she were quite different to what she was used to.

Mussoorie, like most hill stations was calmer and a little laid back and the night life in Udaipur, which was more happening than Mussoorie still fell short when compared to Delhi.

This city was so vibrant and full of life and she was sure that she would love roaming around and exploring the markets here.

But her excitement was also tinged with a hint of melancholy.

She missed her mumma.

This was their dream but now only she was here to live it.

Nostalgia hit her hard.
The numerous discussions that she had with her mumma about living here, coming to the forefront of her mind.

Just as a tear fell, she wiped it off before smiling and reminding herself that her mumma would want her to be happy.

She paid the Uber driver once she arrived and then taking her luggage, she went inside only to be greeted by the warden who showed her the way to her room.

The room was quite spacious with an attached bathroom.

Nothing too grand, just a simple room with a bed, a side table, a dressing table and a wardrobe that she wasn't going to use because she planned to move in to a new place very soon.

She was going to be looking for an apartment and she had decided on a budget of 1 crore for the same.

It was significant amount, but a safe apartment was very important to her and all the decent apartments in Delhi started from around Rs 1cr.

Her fears due to her recent experiences had made her much more vigilant.

She was learning to prioritise her safety and comfort.

After all the horrible things that she faced in the last few months, she was looking forward to have a safe place to call home.

She had contacted a broker and was going to be looking at apartments tomorrow.

The meeting was scheduled for 10am and she was hoping to find a beautiful home in a safe society.

She was also quite excited to pick out new furniture and decor for her place. It was a good distraction for her from her sombre thoughts.

Other than that, her more recent plans included clearing the BAR exam.

Right now, she had a provisional licence that allowed her to practice law for two years but to get her permanent license, she had to clear the BAR exam that was coming up in October.
