As the person who was about to shoot the intimate scene, Ye Zixi felt a mix of nervousness and excitement.
Although Ye Zixi had acted in many films before, he had never done any explicit scenes. Due to his sexual orientation, he had even rejected numerous intimate scenes in the past.
This time, however, he agreed for two reasons: firstly, since it was with a male partner, he didn't feel as uncomfortable; secondly, he was curious and wanted to try it out.
Of course, with current regulations being quite strict, even if they filmed the scene, it would likely just be a few fleeting shots and nothing too explicit.
Director Chen Zhengtian wanted to have a conversation with Ye Zixi and He Jinyun to discuss their comfort levels regarding the scene.
He Jinyun had no objections at all.
After all, he had written the script, and when drafting this part, he had already considered the implications.
Ye Zixi also expressed no concerns, saying he was willing to "sacrifice for art."
Still, Ye Zixi couldn't help but think a little further: what if Tang Jing got jealous when they filmed such an intimate scene?
The next day, right before filming, when Ye Zixi saw Tang Jing arriving with his script, he specifically reassured him, "Don't worry, I don't have any feelings for Teacher He."
Tang Jing was stunned. "Huh?"
He Jinyun, who was walking over, paused mid-step, raising an eyebrow in mock hurt as he teased, "We've been so intimate on screen, yet you still dislike me? How heartbreaking."
Ye Zixi hadn't expected He Jinyun to overhear his offhand remark, let alone twist it into something so easily misunderstood. Wouldn't Tang Jing misunderstand and feel hurt?
Ye Zixi quickly distanced himself and calmly said, "What happens on-screen is separate from reality. Teacher He, please don't joke about this. Also, when I said I don't like you, that's not what I meant. I—"
He Jinyun interjected, "Oh? What do you mean then?"
Ye Zixi frowned. How was he supposed to explain that?
Glancing at Tang Jing, who also looked confused, Ye Zixi's expression turned incredulous. "Don't tell me...you both still don't realize..."
Before he could finish, Director Chen's voice cut in, calling them over to prepare for the scene.
He Jinyun was genuinely puzzled now, wondering what Ye Zixi had been implying.
Tang Jing was equally confused, staring at Ye Zixi in bewilderment.
Looking at their identical expressions of confusion, Ye Zixi finally understood.
So, after all this time, neither of them had figured it out?
It seemed the only ones eager for something to happen were the fans shipping them.
With a somewhat exasperated glance at the two, Ye Zixi was the first to walk over to the director.
He Jinyun chuckled to himself and followed.
This left Tang Jing standing alone, still utterly confused.
What had Ye Zixi been trying to say?
There wasn't any time for further clarification, though, as the shoot was about to begin and the set was being cleared.
Director Chen, ever the romantic, even approached intimate scenes with a sense of artistry. He had already discussed the specifics with the two leads the previous day, so they were ready to begin filming.
