Mexico City"Ugh... right. Shall we begin with your name."
My name... it's been a while since someone has asked me that but no one has ever lived long enough to use it.
"I went by many names... Simon in France 1976. Daliah in Persia. Yvette in Italy..." I walked towards the window, watching the rain fall harder and harder.
"Do you, enjoy the rain?" She asked, sounding nervous like the words were stuck in her throat.
"Yes. I was born on a night like this or so my mother and father would tell me many times over."
"Would you, ugh, like to tell me more about that time? The time when you were human."
Year: 1620
Salem, Massachusetts."Push Katherina, push." A physician sat in-between a young girl's legs, telling her to push out a baby. The young girl, named Katherina, must've been 14, a child herself giving birth to a child.
"How is she?" A boy dressed in black came inside the room where Katherina was giving birth, sweat coating her body.
"She's almost there, just one more big push and the little fella will be here." The physician told the man.
"Christopher..." Katherina called for him weakly. He went to her side, holding her hand.
"Katherina, my love." He kissed the back of her hand.
"I can't do it. It hurts." Tears coated her cheeks as she looked at Christopher, pain hitting her everywhere.
"Don't say that my love." He lifted her up, getting behind her so she would be able to lean onto his chest. His hands wrapping themselves around her belly.
"Alright, one more big push Katherina and then we can see our baby." She nodded, holding onto his legs for support as the most piercing scream made its way out of her body.
"You did it." Christopher smiled, holding Katherina close, kissing her temple.
Then there were screams, angry screams from a baby. The physician brought the baby to the new parents, letting them see their beautiful bundle.
"It's a girl, congratulations."
Katherina and Christopher held their baby girl, staring down at the screaming infant while rocking her.
"What should we name her?" Christopher looked at Katherina, who was focused on the little life in front of her.
"Sybil. Her name will be Sybil."
