Just as I was about to lower myself down, I took a quick glance up at the crowd again, only to see something... strange.
Something with glowing red eyes, staring down at the crowd. Making sure to conceal myself again, I stared at it a bit longer at it.
I couldn't make out what it was from this distance, but I know that its eyes were glowing red.
Nothing I'd ever seen before.
I kept staring a bit longer before it turned towards me, causing me to duck down quickly and hide from it.
Waiting a bit longer before taking a peek again, was gone?
Did it see me? What was that thing? Why was staring down at the crowd?
So many thoughts ran through my head but I didn't have time to sit here and figure them out.
Once the men had dispersed, only leaving Father Salvatore and Father Armando, I waited before coming down only to be stopped once again by a conversation.
"Are you sure you have seen it here?"
"I'm sure of it. One of my men recovered a piece of it from a nest." Father Salvatore?
"This must stay between us, no one must know of this."
Of what? What were they speaking about? Carefully moving over to the edge, I looked over it briefly; hoping to not fall or be seen by them.
There was silence and awe. I couldn't see what they were staring it but I knew what it was from the reflection.
"Of course. If the villagers found out about the gold lying beneath them they'd become selfish and greedy."
"Precisely. It is good thing I am here to lay claim of it for Spain. That is why while they believe there is witchcraft, we must find the gold and then return."

"Sybil, you sure you heard what you heard? I mean, why would they lie bout a witch being in the village to look for gold?"
After the gathering in the square, I'd quickly rush home where Ma, Pa and Benjamin all sat waiting to me.
"I know it sounds crazy but I know what I had heard. Y'all have to believe me." I knelt infront of Benjamin, holding his hands while lookin at him; hoping he'd understand most of all.
"I know you mad I snuck out and went to there but baby, when have I ever lied to you?"
"For now let's keep this all between us, we can't have this out or else they'll have our neck." Papa said, while Benjamin helped me to my feet.
"Tomorrow afternoon, Father Salvatore and a few of his men are goin into the forest for purification. My pa and I are going wit'em." Benjamin said, still holding my hand in his.
"Mrs. Katherina, you in good with the women of the church, that may be a good place to get some information on this gold business. You know, old stories and such, but don't tell them anything else."
"Alright." Mama nodded.
"I'm gonna talk to my pa about this tomorrow, for now let's all get some rest and we'll discuss this in the morning."
